Selva di Cadore is a comune in the province of Belluno in the Italian region of Veneto, located about 120 kilometres north of Venice and about 40 kilometres northwest of Belluno. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 557 and an area of 33.1 square kilometres . The population speaks a Venetian dialect called Ladin Venetian that is heavily influenced by the Ladin language. The municipality of Selva di Cadore contains the frazioni S.Fosca and Pescul. Selva di Cadore borders the following municipalities: Alleghe, Borca di Cadore, Colle Santa Lucia, San Vito di Cadore, Zoldo Alto.

  • 2. Passo Giau Colle Santa Lucia
    The Giau Pass is a high mountain pass in the Dolomites in the province of Belluno in Italy. It connects Cortina d'Ampezzo with Colle Santa Lucia and Selva di Cadore. It is located at the center of a vast mountain pasture at the foot of Nuvolau and dell'Averau from which you can easily reach the Monte Pore . Impressive is the view west towards Colle Santa Lucia with the Pale di San Martino, Cime D'Auta, Marmolada, Piz Boe and Setsass, just to the east towards the valley of Cortina d'Ampezzo, with Tofane, Croda Rossa, Pomagagnon, Cristallo, Croda da Lago, etc.
