Krosno Travel

Krosno Travel - Krosno - a city with county rights - municipal district in Subcarpathian province and the seat of the county of Krosno, including the coverage areas of the ten surrounding communities at a much smaller population. Located in the Carpathian Euroregion, which includes Polish border areas, Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary and Romania. The date of the first foundation charter of the town is not known, though we may presume that the oldest preserved royal document dating from 1367, regarding the sale of the Krosno aldermanship, was modeled on an earlier foundation act. Krosno, a royal town from its origin was not only an important center of economic life, but also a very important center of art, which focused on artistic patronage of wealthy citizens and the local gentry. In the city, whose fortifications were built during the life of Casimir the Great, and continued in subsequent centuries, contributed to the outstanding monuments of architecture, which fills the interior made ​​on the spot - or brought in from outside - works of sculpture, painting and decorative arts. The exceptional importance of the city, often referred to as parva Cracovia little Krakow, evidenced by the fact that the figure of the panorama - along with several other views of the most important cities of the Polish Kingdom - located in the famous work of G. Braun and F. Hoghenberga Civitates Orbis Terrarum, published in Cologne in the years 1575 to 1618.

Solina and Bieszczady 2017 - Mati Granica

A video of my trip to the Bieszczady mountain region in Poland.

Bieszczady is a mountain range that runs from the extreme south-east of Poland through Ukraine and Slovakia. It forms the western part of the Eastern Beskids (Beskidy Wschodnie), and is more generally part of the Outer Eastern Carpathians. The mountain range is situated between the Łupków Pass (640 m) and the Vyshkovskyi Pass (933 m).

One of the locations was the Solina Lake.

Lake Solina (Polish: Jezioro Solińskie) is an artificial lake in the Bieszczady Mountains region, more precisely in Lesko County of the Subcarpathian Voivodship of Poland.

The lake was created in 1968 by the construction of the Solina Dam on the San River. It has an area of 22 square kilometres (8 sq mi) and contains 472,000,000 cubic metres (617,000,000 cu yd; 383,000 acre·ft) of water, making it Poland's largest artificial lake.
It is the best known tourist attraction of the region, with waterside villages like Solina, Myczkowce and Polańczyk catering to watersports enthusiasts. The lake's great depth, water clarity, and mountainous scenery makes it a very popular destination for boaters. Because of these qualities the lake has been nicknamed the Bieszczady Sea.

Starting in the 1970s the Wojewódzkie Przedsiębiorstwo Turystyczne (State Tourism Enterprise) Bieszczady purchased a number of vessels for the lake and established the lake's White Fleet. The fleet's main ships offer cruises on the lake.
