Karen Brown's Residenza d'Epoca San Crispino, Assisi, Italy
Welcome to Karen Brown's World of Travel
We would like to share with you one of our recommended hotels in Italy
The Residenza d'Epoca San Crispino in the town of Assisi
Assisi is one of our favorite places to stay and our guide can never recommend enough hotels here, so we were delighted to find the Residenza d'Epoca San Crispino, a fabulous, enchanting new hotel.
Dating back to the 14th century when it was a religious site for the order of San Crispino, the hotel has been tenderly restored to maintain its rich heritage while adding every comfort for the 21st century.
Almost all of the furnishings are beautiful antiques previously used in a nunnery.
Throughout this tiny inn you find uncluttered, tasteful decor with white walls, stone floors, bouquets of fresh flowers, and handsome antiques.
The mood is set as you enter through very old double doors into a courtyard, bound on one side by the small, 5th-century church of San Biagio.
From the courtyard, steps lead up to the foyer where the reception desk is an antique confessional.
Accommodations are all suites, varying in size from a studio to a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment.
Every room has an armoire, which conceals a small refrigerator, minibar, espresso machine, hot plate, dishes, and utensils for preparing light snacks.
Breakfast is serviced in the cozy Domus restaurant where guests can relax throughout the day. Laundry service is available upon request.
Each room is a dream, but my very favorite is The Moon and The Stars, which not only has a lovely view, but also its own huge private garden. This small hotel is really special and a marvelous value.
