Yan Yean Reservoir is the oldest water supply for the city of Melbourne, Australia. At the time of its completion in 1857 it was the largest artificial reservoir in the world. It is 30 kilometres north of the city and is built on the Plenty River, a tributary of the Yarra River. An embankment 9.5 metres high holds back 30,000 megalitres of water. As of August 19, 2018 the reservoir sits at 82.6% of capacity, holding 24,988ML of water.The reservoir is managed by Melbourne Water as part of the water supply system for Melbourne.

The Dandenong Ranges are a set of low mountain ranges, rising to 633 metres at Mount Dandenong, approximately 35 km east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The ranges consist mostly of rolling hills, steeply weathered valleys and gullies covered in thick temperate rainforest, predominantly of tall Mountain Ash trees and dense ferny undergrowth. After European settlement in the region, the range was used as a major source of timber for Melbourne. The ranges were popular with day-trippers from the 1870s onwards. Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park is a 25-acre biopark within the Pearcedale Conservation Park located at Pearcedale on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne, Australia. It aims to display the fauna that was found in the Mornington Peninsula and Western Port Biosphere Reserve prior to European settlement as well as working towards the recovery of threatened Australian fauna. The park is open all year except on Christmas Day. The sanctuary, as part of Pearcedale Conservation Park, is an institutional member of the Zoo and Aquarium Association . It is ECO Certified at the Ecotourism level by Ecotourism Australia.

Driving to Pykes Creek Reservoir - Melbourne Victoria on 21.5.2018
It was a very windy ,cold and rainy Day but I decided to go for a drive after work. It was quiet a challenge to get to this place driving from Bacchus Marsh because the weather was bad and i didnt even follow any navigation or maps .
I kind of knew its somewhere there. Finally arrived and I was impressed with its size but believe its little short of water being depleted by recent droghts in Victoria.

Pykes Creek Reservoir is also a great place for boating,fishing & kayaking and next time i will film more in better weather.

Pykes Creek Reservoir ( Pykes Creek Dam )- Melbourne Victoria is situated about 70 km from Melbourne city center and Ballan is not far from there. Little town of Myrniong also is very nice and I hope to drop in the Plough Restaurant.
