Paleokastritsa is one of the most popular resorts of Corfu, situated on the west coast of the island. It is located about 30 km from the capital Corfu Town, surrounded by green hills on the background of brilliant blue sea. It is considered to be the most beautiful resort of Corfu. It consists of six different bays and beaches with crystal blue sea water. Situated aobove, on the mountain, Bella Vista belvedere point overlooks the famous Paleokastritsa resort view with its magnificent bays and the famous monastery of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Above the main coast on a hillside full of wild trees and olive trees facing the deep blue sea stand this monastery who was built around 12th century. Inside there are a museum with Byzantine and post Byzantine icons. Outside the monastery, a canon is still preserved bearing the coat of Arms of Romanof (Romanov), probably since the 1799 from the short presence of Russians.
Paleokastritsa is chiefly memorable for the exceptional scenery along with the superb beaches. You can swim at six different secluded sand and fine pebble beach enclosed by tall cliffs, wooded headlands, olive groves, lemon and cypress trees and lush hilly countryside. Favourite walks are up to the promontory farthest west to find the charming Paleokastritsa monastery. You can reach on foot Agios Spyridon Bay with its immense beach, or by water-taxi. There are plenty of boat trips from Paleokastritsa beaches, the most famous being the Yellow Submarine and Nautilus, boats in which can be see the underwater world. Add variety to holidays in Paleokastritsa by visiting Lakones and other hillside villages, where you will find quiet traditional Corfu charm and memorable country taverns. Paleokatritsa este paradisul pasionatilor de scufundari, apele cristaline ale celor 6 golfulete lasandu-i sa descopere fascinanta lume a subacvaticului. De aici se organizeaza si scurte plimbari cu barca sau cu celebrul submarin galben.
Bella Vista este un promontoriu pe versantul muntelui care domină stațiunea Paleokastrisa, cea mai frumoasă staţiune din Insula Corfu. Panorama de vis acoperă versantul muntelui acoperit de păduri de măslini și chiparoși, iar în partea de jos stațiunea Paleokstrisa cu ale sale șase golfuri cu ape în diferite nuanțe. Se remarcă portul turistic Alipa (cu Submarinul Galben), plaja și golful Agios Spyridon (cu grota lui Ulise și Nausicaa) și mănăstirea Paleokastritsa (Panaghia). Pe marginea promontoriului sunt mai multe taverne de unde pot fi savurate in liniste cafeaua si peisajul.

The Yellow Submarine is a yellow boat with glass cabin 2 meters under the water. It offers 1 hour trip of the famous coast and caves of Paleokastritsa (Corfu Island, Greece).
The Yellow Subamarine departs from Alipa Port in Paleokastritsa every hour from 10 am to 5 pm.
The Yellow Submarine has been developed in Corfu for viewing Paleokastritsa, the most unique place in Corfu with the crystal clear water, wonderful caves and the fascinating sea life, viewed through 22 giant undersea windows.

Paleokastritsa, cu ale sale șase golfuri având nuanțe diferite și cu muntele care se prabușește în mare, este considerată cea mai frumoasă stațiune din insula Corfu.
Yellow Submarine este un vas special construit pentru croaziere subacvative, având aproximativ 15 m lungime și 4 m lățime. Poate transporta până la 50 pasageri. Vasul prezintă o punte inferioasă submersă cu hublouri mari de sticlă. Prin ele se poate observa fauna marină din zona stâncilor.
In prima parte a excursiei toți pasagerii stau pe punte și se bucură de peisajul extraordinar. Submarinul se plimbă printre stânci cu forme ciudate, pe lângă peșteri cu reflexii în antichitate, iar la difuzoare auzim informații în limbile engleză și greacă. După ce ne-a încântat cu priveliștile de vis, sosește momentul în care suntem invitați să coborâm în partea de jos a submarinului. Având pereții construiți dintr-o sticlă specială, avem oportunitatea de a explora lumea submarină. Spectacolul este fascinant ! Submarinul galben are un căpitan (Nemo) care este pus tot timpul pe distracție. Ruta submarinului galben cuprinde cele 6 golfulețe de vis din jurul Paleokastritsei.
Durata: 1 ora (30 de minute pe punte, 20 de minute in interior - peisaj subacvatic). Plimbările cu submarinul se fac din oră în oră. Cele mai spectaculoase croaziere cu Yellow Submarine sunt cele de seara de la ora 21 la 22. Prețul excursiei variază între 7,5 - 10 euro de persoană. La bordul submarinului este multă veselie și muzică.

В начале июня 2018 год мы совершили путешествие по острову Корфу (Греция).
Корфу (или Керкира) - самый северный и второй по площади живописный греческий остров в Ионическом море.

Палеокастрица (греч. Παλαιοκαστρίτσα) — курортная деревня на северо-западном побережье острова Керкира. Находится в 19 километрах от Корфу. Численность населения 250 человек.
Греческое слово Παλαιοκαστρίτσα означает «место cтарого замка», и это выражение относится к расположенной к северу от Палеокастрицы полуразрушенной византийской крепости XIII века Ангелóкастро.
Побережье Палеокастрицы состоит из шести бухт (Амбелаки, Агиос Петрос, Агиос Спиридонас, Агия Триада, Платакия и Алипа), отделенных друг от друга выступающими лесистыми мысами.
Как считали древние греки, бухта Палеокастрицы была местом, где высадился герой греческого эпоса Одиссей и где его повстречала Навсикая.
Бухта Палеокастрицы известна и тем, что здесь снимался один из фильмов о Джеймсе Бонде, агенте 007 — «Только для твоих глаз» (For Your Eyes Only, 1981 год).
Превращение тихой рыбацкой деревушки, какой была Палеокастрица много веков подряд, в объект туризма и отдыха началось в 1950 году. Это место известно своими пейзажами. С высоты крутых утёсов видны оливковые плантации, покрытые соснами холмы, скалы в море, бухты и песчаные пляжи с золотистым песком, а также панорама горного поселка Лáконес. В Палеокастрице много отелей разных категорий, апартаментов, кемпингов, ресторанов, таверн и баров. Однако море в бухтах Палеокастрицы из-за течений всегда на несколько градусов холоднее, чем в других местах острова.
Рядом с деревней, среди густых деревьев и пышной растительности на краю высокого утёса расположен мужской монастырь «Божьей Матери Палеокастрица» («Мони́ Теото́ку»), построенный в XVII веке на месте разрушенного монастыря 1225 года.
В монастыре хранится чудотворная икона «Животворящий источник», поэтому по транскрипции с греческого его часто называют «Зоодо́ху Пиги́с». Здесь же находится небольшой музей икон, рукописей, книг, церковных облачений и других атрибутов православных церковных ритуалов. Рядом с монастырём можно купить вино и оливковое масло, которые производятся в монастырской винодельне и в её самом старом в Греции заводе по производству оливкового масла.
