Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, also known as Pink City, is a delight for tourists and foreign travellers. Jaipur has some of the best landmarks like Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Amer Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Jal Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Albert Hall, Birla Temple etc. We enjoyed exploring Rajastan Jaipur so much so join us in this video as we visit some of the best places in Jaipur. We also go shopping for a Saree for Theodora. Visiting the Jaipur bazaars was an amazing experience.

Amer Fort in Jaipur, India - Full Guided Tour
A full guided tour around the Amer Fort in Jaipur India.
Amer Palace (Hindi: आमेर क़िला, also spelled and pronounced as Amber) is located in Amer (a town with an area of 4 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi), 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) from Jaipur, Rajasthan state, India. It is the principal tourist attractions in the Jaipur area, located high on a hill. Amer Fort was built by Raja Man Singh I. Amer Fort is known for its artistic style of Hindu elements. With its large ramparts, series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks the Maota Lake, at its forefront.
The aesthetic ambiance of the palace is seen within its walls on a four level layout plan (each with a courtyard) in a well turned out opulent palace complex built with red sandstone and marble consisting of the Diwan-e-Aam or the Hall of Public Audience, the Diwan-e-Khas or the Hall of Private Audience, the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace) or Jai Mandir, and the Sukh Niwas where a cool climate is artificially created by winds that blow over the water cascade within the palace. Hence, the Amer Fort is also popularly known as the Amer Palace. The palace was lived in by the Rajput Maharajas and their families. At the entrance to the palace near the fort's Ganesh Gate, there is also a temple dedicated to Sila Devi, a goddess of the Chaitanya cult which was given to Raja Man Singh when he had defeated the Raja of Jessore, Bengal in 1604. (Jessore is now in Bangladesh).
This palace along with Jaigarh Fort, located immediately above on the Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) of the same Aravalli range of hills, is considered as one complex, as the two are well connected by a subterranean passage. This passage was meant as an escape route in times of war for the royal family members and others in the Amer Fort to shift to the more redoubtable Jaigarh Fort.[
Annual tourist visitation to the Amer Palace in Amer town was reported by the Superintendent of Department of Archaeology and Museums to the Amer Palace as 5000 visitors a day, and 1.4 million visitors were reported during 2007
The Amber Fort is a very impressive structure from the exterior, set high on a hill with a big wall around it that looks like a smaller version of the Great Wall of China.
To reach the fort you walk up a steep incline that zigzags the hillside. A number of tourists hire elephants to take them up but they look mistreated and I totally disagree with this practice.
As usual the hawkers are everywhere trying to sell cameras, batteries, postcards and crappy puppets.
Once inside, the fort is very impressive with large open courtyards and even an area with convex glass on the ceiling to reflect heat in winter.
But, to be honest it is much the same as the other forts we have been too, this is not a bad thing as to me they are some of the highlights of the trip.

The resort of Cala Millor was created around what must have once been one of Majorca's most wonderful beaches. Go out of season and you will discover a generous white sand beach with beautiful turquoise blue seas.
It's a Blue Flag Beach and is huge! It's over a kilometre long and the depth is about 30 metres. Just to the south of Cala Millor lies the protected rocky headland, Punta d'Amer which offers a more natural coastline to explore .
A promenade lines the back of the beach so access to all areas of the beach is easy. It runs all the way to the neighbouring resort of Cala Bona and is home to bars, restaurants and shops. Good for – families, water sports. Cala Millor is the east coast's largest resort

If you're planning to walk the Inca Trail or visit Machu Picchu, you'll likely end up spending at least a few days in Cuzco. With it's lively square, quirky museums, artisans markets and traditional performances, this is exactly the type of destination you'll want to linger in...plus let's not forget, it's also a good place to adjust to the altitude! The following video will showcase 15 things to do in Cuzco:
Cuzco Cathedral is a place you shouldn't miss. The cathedral sits on the site of Viracocha Inca’s palace, and it was also built using blocks from the nearby Inca site of Sacsaywamán. Inside you'll find impressive works of art done in the cuzqueña style.
In the evenings, you can go watch a traditional dance performance at Centro Qosqo.
San Blas
San Blas is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Cuzco and it is a great area to explore on foot. The neighbourhood is known for its bright blue doors and window shutters, and it has a nice little square with a church and a water fountain. The neighbourhood has some really cool lookout points with great panoramic views of Cuzco, so you'll want to bring your camera.
Plaza de Armas is the beating heart of Cuzco. The square is flanked by a Jesuit church and cathedral, and there are also plenty of bars, restaurants, and tour agencies around the perimeter. During the day you'll find locals and tourists hanging out in the square, and if you get lucky, you might just encounter a performance followed by a demonstration like we did.
The Inca Museum is one of the main museums in town and it has rooms dedicated to different periods of Inca and Spanish history. You can also see women weaving rugs and tapestries by hand in the central courtyard.
Qurikancha was an Inca temple built to the Sun God, Inti, and it is believed that the walls of this temple were once covered in sheets of gold. If the temple looks like it has various layers of construction, that's because when the Spaniards arrived, they demolished the original temple and used the foundations to build the Church of Santo Domingo on the site.
The Church of the Society of Jesus is a historic Jesuit church. It's worth a quick visit if you're in the area.
Templo de la Merced is another church located one block from Plaza de Armas, and it contains the tomb of two famous conquistadors.

AMER FORT and AMER PALACE + goats! | Jaipur, India, Travel Vlog
Michael spends the full day exploring Jaipur's famous sites of Amber Fort and Amber Palace. Sometimes, these are called Amer Fort and Amer Palace. These are consider one of the most popular things to do in Jaipur and receive millions of visitors per year.
Tons of walking!
The best way to get to Amer Fort is by Uber, and it's a pretty cheap ride that shouldn't cost you any more than around 410 Rupees or about $6-7 USD.
A couple of things to remember:
1. To get into the fort at the top costs extra. It's cheap, but just something you should consider!
2. If you want to record video, you are not allowed to use a microphone. That was odd, but it might have just been that mine was big and poofy! If you use one, keep it small.
3. Wear sunscreen.
4. Prepare to walk - uphill! Amber Fort has some steep spots!
