14 Most Scenic Small Towns in Switzerland
10 Most Beautiful Castles in Switzerland
Switzerland is a small country that sits smack dab in the middle of the Alps, making for 360-degree scenery wherever a person finds themselves. Numerous lakes also add to the picture postcard look of this country, whose most famous citizen may have been the fictional Heidi. From banks to bucolic alpine meadows, Switzerland has it all. An overview of the best places to visit in Switzerland:
18 Secrets & Best Places in Bern, Switzerland
These are my 18 hidden secrets, things to do & best places to visit for Bern, the capital of Switzerland. Bern is not the first place you think of when planning a trip to Europe but let me tell you, Bern is one of the most beautiful places I've been to.
My Bern Travel guide with tips, secrets, maps, addresses and photos:
Kick off Bern with a refreshing jump in the Aare river which flows at speeds up to 13 km per hour while you hold onto your airbag containing your clothes.
For lunch I recommend grabbing a bite at a patio on the Barenplatz downtown Bern loaded with adorable little restaurants and bars.
Kramgasse is the main shopping street with a gorgeous view on the Zytglogge clocktower, the photos simply don't do this place justice.
Bern is well known for being the residence of Professor Einstein, you can visit his original apartment on the Kramgasse. This is also the same place where Einstein came up with the formula E=MC2.
For a fun evening grab a couple of beers at Antonio's Bar & Cafe next to the Zytglogge. I ended up playing a fun game called Corridor with some of the locals and met a couple of friendly girls from Zurich.
In conclusion, Bern is a great summer destination for a pit-stop during a road trip through the Swiss Alps. Due to its small size, 2 days is sufficient to see the entire city. Happy travels!

Geneva In A Day l Switzerland
#Switzerland #Geneva #Travel #WhatToSee
We had a day to spend in Geneva in Switerzland. It was a city on our bucket list. After Zurich, it is the second most populous city in Switzerland. Truly, it is one of the world's most cosmopolitan and international cities in the world. Geneva has a population of around two hundred thousand people and interestingly over 50% are foreign nationals.
While on our way to Lons-le-Saunier(France) from Chamonix(France), we crossed Geneva in between. Geneva is a border town in Switzerland surrounded by France on three sides. It is situated where the Rhône exits Lake Geneva; it is the capital of the Republic and Canton of Geneva.
What to see in Geneva? These are the main attractions: Lake Geneva and Jet d'Eau, Cathedrale de St-Pierre, The Old Town - Place Bourg du Four, Flower Clock and English Garden, Palais des Nations, etc.
We had our lunch on the banks on Lake Geneva. It was a bright and sunny afternoon. We also took a city tour. In our view, if you are short on time, one day is enough for a cursory tour of Geneva.

Geneva Switzerland City Tour | 80+ Countries with 3 Kids
Today, join us as we stroll the Streets of Geneva, the second most populous city in Switzerland.
Geneva is in Romandy, the french-speaking part of Switzerland, so French is the predominant language, but English is also widely used since there are many foreigners that work here.
The cities most famous landmark is Lac Léman (Lake Geneva) along with the dramatic Water Jet called Jet d'eau. The walkway on the southeastern side of the lake lets you walk up to its base, so we did that and luckily didn't get wet from the spray which occasionally changes direction with the wind!
It has amazing power with strong engines pumping up to 500 liters of water per second to the height of 140 meters and all that with a speed of 200km/h.
One other thing we were fascinated with was the giant Flower Clock in the English Garden, which is a tribute to Geneva's watch industry, amazingly harmonizing Swiss ingenuity with the floral bounties of nature
Finally, our tour ended with a visit to the 100m long Reformation Wall monument which commemorates the major events and figures of the Protestant Reformation, like Jean Calvin.

One day in Geneva. Switzerland
Geneva is the second-most populous city in Switzerland (after Zürich) and the most populous city of the Romandy, the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Situated where the Rhône exits Lake Geneva, it is the capital of the Republic and Canton of Geneva.
Geneva is a global city, a financial centre, and a worldwide centre for diplomacy due to the presence of numerous international organizations, including the headquarters of many agencies of the United Nations and the Red Cross. Geneva hosts the highest number of international organizations in the world. It is also where the Geneva Conventions were signed, which chiefly concern the treatment of wartime non-combatants and prisoners of war.
In 2017, Geneva was ranked as the world's fifteenth most important financial centre for competitiveness by the Global Financial Centres Index, fifth in Europe behind London, Zürich, Frankfurt and Luxembourg. A 2009 survey by Mercer found that Geneva has the third-highest quality of life of any city in the world (behind Vienna and Zürich for expatriates; it is narrowly outranked by Zürich). The city has been referred to as the world's most compact metropolis and the Peace Capital. In 2017, Geneva was ranked as the seventh most expensive city in the world. Geneva was ranked third in purchasing power in a global cities ranking by UBS in 2018.

Lake Geneva, Switzerland: 24 Hours Guide
The Lake Geneva region is, simply put, STUNNING. In the Canton of Vaud, the Lake Geneva region has so much natural beauty, between the centuries old villages, the lakeside views, the UNESCO Lavaux terraced vineyards, the cosmopolitan cities and the striking mountains. We spent a day touring Vevey, stopping at the Farmer's Market, Charlie Chaplin's new Chaplin's World, Nestle's museum Nest, as well at Saint Saphorin. We sipped chasselas with a family run winery in Lavaux and made local cheese up in Château-d'Oex. We explored the green countryside on the GoldenPass Panoramic train through the mountains. There's so much to say about this amazing region, but it's probably better to just watch.
Featured: Lausanne, Vevey, Saint-Saphorin, Lavaux, Château-d'Oex, Rougement and The Royal Savoy Hotel, The Grand Hotel du Lac, Chaplin's World, Le Chalet, Auberge de L'onde, Domaine du Croix Duplex, Le National and more!
