Ecuador is one of the most diverse countries in the world though it's comparably tiny. Beside the Galapagos Islands (which is the #1 tourist destination in Ecuador) the country has a lot more to offer, therefore I focussed on La Sierra in this video which is a paradise for landscape lovers and outdoor adventurers.
Another reason to visit the Andean region is that you have the chance to dive into the local culture and get a real feeling of Ecuador. The places to see in Ecuador I focussed on in this short video are the result of my own travels along the center from north to south and are easily doable in 2 weeks time.
Things to do in Ecuador covered in this video:
01) 00:36 - Otavalo market in Otavalo
02) 01:00 - Hike the Cuicocha lake
03) 01:25 - Middle of the World, Mitad del Mundo & Quitsato in Cayambe
04) 01:48 - Quito, capital & UNESCO World Heritage
05) 02:08 - Termas de Papallacta (hot springs)
06) 02:24 - Cayambe Coca National Park
07) 02:45 - Quilotoa & Shalala viewpoint
08) 03:13 - Tren Crucero & Nariz del Diablo (Devil's nose)
09) 03:47 - Inka ruins in Ingapirca
10) 04:04 - Cuenca & it's beautiful old town

First Impression of Galapagos... One of the TOP Places On Our Bucket List!
See how to travel from Guayaquil, Ecuador to #PuertoAyora on Isla Santa Cruz, #Galapagos Islands. Take note that most people spend a small fortune to visit Galapagos by taking cruises which cost well into five figures. In this series of #TravelVlogs, we’re going to show you how to do more and spend less. So BE sure to watch our entire vlog series so that you can plan out your travel activities.
Because of how far the islands are from the mainland AND the entire Galapagos cluster of islands is an archipelago of volcanic islands, food & supplies are shipped in, which contributes to higher prices. But you don’t have to spend as much as you think, which allows more travelers to check this destination off their bucket list and experience the Galapagos sooner than people imagine.
Galapagos Islands along with all of Ecuador uses USD as their currency.
Before leaving Guayaquil, we paid for a $20 transit pass at the airport that must be purchased per traveler. Upon arriving to the Seymour Airport on Isla Baltra, we had to pay the $100 Galapagos Island Fee which goes towards maintenance of the islands, conservation, protection of the animals, infrastructure and the employees doing all the work (we found this out from one of the island’s National Park Rangers.)
After going through the airport, there’s a $5 bus fee to go to the Baltra Ferry which is $1 fee to cross the Itabaca Channel. Once you cross the channel, there’s two options to head 40ish km to Puerto Ayora:
Option 1: Take the $25 Taxi which is the island’s “transport” service and is 4-door pick-up truck
Option 2: Take the bus for $5
We ended up splitting the $25 taxi fee with a couple from the Netherlands, as it’s a directional fee, not a per-person fee! SCORE!
Stay tuned for more Galapagos travel vlog vids!

GALAPAGOS ISLANDS - ARE THEY WORTH IT? - Chase the Story 40
With our amazing sailing trip to the Galapagos Islands coming to an end, we go in search of the elusive penguins (yes - apparently there are penguins at the Equator - who knew??) Along the way, we come across swimming iguanas, a No Swimming Sign (which we thankfully listened to, as it was Shark Central), sea horses, blue-footed boobies and we get to swim with enormous turtles. In the name of adventure, we surf the waves in to one remote region of Isla Isabela on a motor boat which turns out to be mildly terrifying.
Happy sailing everyone!

Traveling to the Galapagos Islands to Live the #FlightieLife
More Galapagos on the blog:
I was invited by Flight Centre to spend a week in the Galapagos as an honorary flightie on a G Adventure tour. The Galapagos Islands are some of the most magical places on earth, where man and wildlife live together in harmony in a way I've never seen before. While in the Galapagos, I swam with wild sea lions, walked alongside the largest tortoises, made friends with marine iguanas and watched the daily lives of pelicans and crabs. If you love wildlife and are a nature person, the Galapagos NEEDS to be on your bucket list. You can check out the G Adventures Trip here:
