John Laurens was an American soldier and statesman from South Carolina during the American Revolutionary War, best known for his criticism of slavery and his efforts to help recruit slaves to fight for their freedom as U.S. soldiers.In 1779, Laurens gained approval from the Continental Congress for his plan to recruit a brigade of 3,000 slaves by promising them freedom in return for fighting. The plan was defeated by political opposition in South Carolina, and Laurens was killed in the Battle of the Combahee River in August 1782.

Top 10 Life Lessons Learned in Travelling the World for 10 Years

I'm a world traveller who immersed himself in local cultures & here are the lessons I've learned. Enjoy!

Today is my TEN YEAR travel anniversary! To celebrate, I made this video to gather some of my best travel footage, while sharing the top lessons I've learned in the last decade on the road. Soon after I made this video, National Geographic announced me as their traveler of the year!

Here are the lessons one by one:
1. Happiness has no price tag
2. Be an imperfectionist
3. The magic happens outside of your comfort zone

6. Every single person is fascinating and can teach you something
7. It's OK to say I was wrong
8. The present is what really matters.

The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux is the fine arts museum of the city of Bordeaux, France. Established in 1801 by the painter Pierre Lacour, it is one of the largest art galleries of France outside Paris.

The museum is housed in a dependency of the Palais Rohan in central Bordeaux. Its collections regroup paintings, sculptures and drawings. The painting collection is the largest one and its strong points are works by French and Dutch painters. The museum holds several paintings that were looted by the French during the French revolution (so-called 'saisies révolutionnaires') such as the Martyrdom of Saint Georges by Peter Paul Rubens
