Marseille-France travel video
Nestled between the sea and hills, Marseille is a surprising, seasonless and enthusiastic city. Founded 2600 years ago, the oldest city in France combines the richness of its unique heritage with a vibrant cultural life in one exceptional site.As France's second largest city, Marseille recalls the values of sharing that have shaped its territory for centuries, maintaining in its name Marseille the memory of the ancient Greek from Asia Minor that participated in its founding.

Floating like an emerald teardrop between the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea is the island nation of St Lucia.
For centuries the original Arawak and Carib made their homes around the islands northern bays. In the 1550s, the notorious buccaneer, Peg Leg Le Clerc, became the first European to settle here.
After the pirates came the plantations, and the bittersweet years of sugar and slavery. Between the 17th and 19th centuries, St Lucia was pulled back and forth between the French and British, before finally gaining her independence in 1979.
Right in the heart of the capital, Castries, the main square pays tribute to two of the island’s Nobel Prize winning sons. Just across from the park, visit the basilica, filled with murals that blend the colours and traditions of Africa, the Caribbean and the West.
At the Central Market, taste the fruits of this island’s volcanic soil, enjoy real St Lucian home cooking, and browse crafts made by local hands. The creation story continues at Eudovik’s Art Studio, where master carvers transform tree roots into sensual works of art.
The sleepy French colonial town, Soufriere, is cradled by some of the island’s greatest natural treasures. Just a short boat ride away is one island’s finest resort beaches, Anse Chastanet. While nestled between the two volcanic spires of Gros and Petit Piton, is one of the west coast’s most secluded hideaways, Sugar Beach.

15. Our journey through the Corinth Canal 2019 | What you need to know | Sailing around the world
What an amazing week! We completed our sail across the Cyclades Islands, Greece and cruise past Piraeus, Athens where our sailing and boat buying journey all began almost exactly 1 year ago.
Just in time we make it to the somewhat sheltered Kalamaki anchorage near the Corinth Canal before 50-60 knot winds hit all around us.
After a few days hanging out with all the large ships waiting for the blow to stop we get our first glimpse of the amazing Corinth Canal and then we get to cruise through the Corinth Canal!
Did you know the Corinth canal cuts off the 240 km journey around the Peloponnese. It is 6.3 km long and ranges between 21 and 24 meters wide. The depth is between 6.5 – 8 meters and roughly 12000 ships pass through per year.
The Corinth Canal has a lot of history, including being put out of action by the Germans at the end of World War 2. Today the canal is susceptible to landslides, the last of which closed the canal for two weeks in February 2018. It is also host to swimming contests, Jet Ski passages and bungee jumping.
Once on the other side we enter the Gulf of Corinth between mainland Greece and the Peloponnese and the calmness of the Corinth Canal is quickly forgotten as we encounter continuous 30 knot gusts off the mountains and building waves.
Finally the gusts and waves settled down, however we face our next challenge as our prop is fouled by an unknown object.
The next day we watch another brilliant sunrise as we cruise through snow capped mountains towards the world's longest cable-stayed bridge the Rion - Antirion Bridge towards the Ionian Islands, Greece.
If you are interested in the process of passing through the Rion - Antirion Bridge, we show what we experienced. Hope that helps :)
Thank you for watching, we hope you enjoy!

Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse sailing boat, Kawai.
We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Gibraltar, Canary Islands and then across the Atlantic Ocean.
Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure. We really hope you enjoy and feel free to drop us a comment any time to chat or subscribe to follow along :)

The Quintessential Spanish Cove. (Sailing La Vagabonde) Ep. 127
We go for a scooter ride around the island on what could fairly well be described as a lighthouse tour headed by Christian (the inspector). You don't see it in the videos but Logan absolutely refused to keep up with everyone and would arrive at least 10 minutes late to each lighthouse much to everyones amusement.
Probably the most amazing thing from my point of view was that Simone turned out to be a cosmologist but was so humble that we only found out on the last day after Pete prompted her. I know I have written about this before but I really found that to be incredible, I wish I had gotten the chance to speak to her more about it.
Anyway the place in the picture above is the type of place you dream about when your planning your trip around the mediterranean. Shear cliff face, tied off to the rocks, previously occupied by ancient civilisations, protected from the Mistral, snorkelling heaven, enough boats near by to make friends but not so many for it to feel... occupied or sort of, spoiled. It was the perfect spot to take all the crew and to meet up with Jeff.
Special mention for poor old Tomas who sailed his boat over from Barcelona and put on a feast for everyone on one of the nights but we got no footage of it because everyone was either too tired or having too much fun to even pick up a camera.

Haul Out Preparation: 1 BIG Sailboat: 1 SMALL Lift :5 Cheeky Neighbors!(Patrick Childress #39)
Sailboat Haul Out Tips and Preparations (Preps) : 1 big Boat; 1 small Travel Lift & 5 Cheeky neighbors in the boat yard, in South Africa! (Patrick Childress Sailing #39) Ep 219 Step 173 Ep. 36
Upon arrival in Richards Bay, South Africa, we prepare our blue water sailboat, SV Brick House for another haulout for boat Maintenance, sailboat upgrades, and of course new bottom paint. We will be doing lots of boat work here. Patrick Childress shows how he cleans the boat, tests the water for drinking, kills the invading ants before they infest our boat, and then gets us ready to fit the boat in to a travel lift that is a little too small to accommodate our rigging. We have to unattached the forestays to fit on the travel lift, and Patrick demonstrates the best way to do this without taking off the sails, or disassembling the entire profurl roller furling drum. Hauling a sailboat out of the water, even on a travel lift that is a bit too small doesn’t have to be chaotic.
Here is the ant poison we have carried with us around the world that has worked 99.9% of the time with ants. I recommend carrying a big supply of it because it’s sometimes hard to find!
