The Falls Creek Alpine Resort is an alpine ski resort in the Hume region in northeastern Victoria, Australia. It is located in the Alpine National Park in the Victorian Alps, approximately 350 kilometres by road from Melbourne, with the nearest town Mount Beauty, approximately 30 km away. The resort lies between an elevation of 1,210 and 1,830 m above sea level, with the highest lifted point at 1,780 m . Skiing is possible on the nearby peak of Mount McKay at 1,842 m , accessed by snowcat from the resort.

Perisher is the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere. Located in the Australian Snowy Mountains, the resort is an amalgamation of four villages and their associated ski fields, covering approximately 12 square kilometres , with the base elevation at 1,720 metres AHD, and the summit elevation of 2,054 metres at the top of Mount Perisher. 4.4 square kilometres of this area is covered by 240 snow guns, which are used to artificially supplement the natural snowfall. Take the Murray River road from Lake Hume Village for a spectacular scenic drive and cross the Murray River on the Ferry almost to the entrance of Wymah Hideway Camping Park.
This is a true escape, a place to relax and take in the incredible beauty of the Lake and Murray River.
There is no phone coverage and no wifi, it's back to great old basics for fun things to do.
Swim, Kayak and go fishing. Read a book or do some writing or drawing. You can also enjoy a game of pool.
The park only allows for 9 powered sites and 9 unpowered sites so you will never feel overwhelmed with too many people. You may even be lucky and have the place to yourself like we did.
Facilities include toilets and showers,
The owners David and Sue are fantastic and will ensure you have a fabulous stay.
Cost to stay is just $20 per night unpowered or $35 powered per couple. In low season it is even cheaper.
