Seattle Travel Guide - Must-See Attractions
Seattle is a major coastal seaport and the seat of King County, in the U.S. state of Washington. Seattle lies on seven hills including Capitol Hill, First Hill, West Seattle, Beacon Hill, Magnolia, Denny Hill and Queen Anne. The Kitsap and the Olympic peninsulas along with the Olympic mountains lie to the west of Puget Sound, while the Cascade Range and Lake Sammamish lie to the east of Lake Washington.
The most important places to visit in Seattle are: The Space Needle (an iconic feature of Seattle's skyline. The view from the top is stunning with a revolving restaurant, undoubtedly Seattle's most famous landmark), Mount Rainier (towering over Seattle, it is 50 miles from the city. There's a national park with camping and hiking activities), Pike Place Market (one of Seattle's most popular attractions. The farmer's market is over 100 years old and still maintains local flavor), The Seattle Aquarium (located on Pier 59, the Aquarium showcases a wide variety of colorful marine species), Pioneer Square (relive Seattle's history in the city's oldest neighborhood. It's packed with exciting night clubs, restaurants and galleries) and many more.
If you want to save time and money, the most important Seattle travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

Mystery Underground Secret of Seattle, Washington
In the beginning, the tour guide inquired where people came from if they were not local residents of Washington State. Our Seattle's Underground 1.5 hour walking tour comprised mostly tourist from all over the world. People came from places like, Canada, New York, Germany, Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Ukraine, China, and Korea. I was the only local person from Washington State but the tour was still interesting.
Except for the faint musty smell, the underground felt like I was going through an amusement pirate or haunted hideout. A good walking shoe is recommended because of the uneven floor surfaces and stair cases.
The tour guide did mention that many settlers suffered strange deaths during the gold rush era and the dead may still be walking the tunnels in the after life. The tour guide also mentioned that people have noticed strange images in their photos taken after a tour.

Kent, Washington Tour & tourist attraction info
population was listed at 114,218.
The Kent area was first permanently settled by westerners in the early 1860s, and originally called Titusville (There is still a 'Titusville Station' sign on Gowe St).
During the 1880s the town discovered hops production as the major source of income. Due to an aphid invasion which affected hops crops in Europe,[3] hops from the Puget Sound area were commanding high prices. Hops were shipped from Titusville either by the river or via rail. Eventually the town was even re-named for Kent County in England. Hops production in the valley would come to an end due to an invasion of aphids.[4]
Kent was officially incorporated on May 28, 1890 with a population of 793, the second city incorporated in King County after Seattle.[5]
After the turn of the 20th century the area turned to dairy farming, and was home to a Carnation Condensed Milk plant.[6][7] Flooding from both the Green and the White Rivers was a constant problem. In 1906, flooding changed the course of the White River, which reduced the flood hazard by half. The Green River continued to present problems until the creation of the Howard A. Hanson Dam at Eagle Gorge in 1962.[8][9]
During and after the Great Depression, Kent was known as the Lettuce Capital of the World. After WWII, Kent began to grow more rapidly. From 1953 to 1960 the city's size grew twelve-fold. In 1965 Boeing began building in Kent, followed a few years later by other aerospace and high-tech companies.[10]
In 1992, the Greater Kent Historical Society was formed with the intent of promoting the discovery, preservation and dissemination of knowledge about the history of the greater Kent area.[11] In 1996, the City of Kent purchased the historic Bereiter house, the home of one of Kent's early mayors, for use as the Kent Historical Museum. The museum is operated by the Greater Kent Historical Society.

SEATTLE - USA Travel Guide | Around The World
Seattle, Washington, is the largest city in the Pacific Northwest. Located between Puget Sound and Lake Washington in King County, of which it is the county seat, and overlooking Elliott Bay, Seattle is nicknamed The Emerald City. The city is a damp green gem, with an abundance of evergreen trees throughout, and spectacular views of the Cascade mountains to the east and the Olympic mountains to the west. The cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, the city and its surrounding areas are the home of the Space Needle, Boeing's aircraft assembly plants, Microsoft, Amazon.com, Costco, Nintendo of America, Starbucks, T-Mobile, and the University of Washington, as well as a vibrant arts and music scene and an excellent park system.
Seattle was founded on the rough, physical industries of fishing, logging and coal mining, with San Francisco as her primary customer. Boeing, founded in 1916, grew to be Greater Seattle's primary industry as natural resources were depleted. The region's strong economic dependence on Boeing gave the oil recession and cancellation of the SST (Supersonic Transport) in the early '70s a grim effect. Over the last twenty-five years, the area has become less seedy and more developed with the massive influx of Microsoft money (and other software and biotech proceeds), but Pioneer Square is still the original Skid Row. (Yesler Way was a Skid Road for logs skidded downhill using dogfish oil to Henry Yesler's lumber mill).
Seattle is also substantially influenced by the presence of the University of Washington (the largest single campus in the state and recipient of over $1 billion in research grants annually), as well as multiple smaller colleges and universities. Seattle is also the center for financial, public health, and justice systems in the northwestern part of the U.S.
Seattle is historically a very diverse city and multiculturalism is seen as a virtue. Discrimination based on race is considered extremely offensive.
Locals have long talked of the Seattle Freeze, referring to the cold politeness of residents. The theory is that while locals are very polite and warm on first interaction, most residents are also very reserved and interactions rarely lead to real acts of friendship (an invitation to dinner, personal conversations, etc.). For visitors it is best to treat this as shyness--expect to make all the first moves to meet people here.
Seattle is home to a number of top-notch museums. Downtown is home to the renowned Seattle Art Museum, which displays a good overview and assortment of art from around the world. In the Central District is the Seattle Asian Art Museum, an off-shoot of the Seattle Art Museum which focuses on Chinese & Japanese Art, but includes works from as far away as India. The Asian Art museum is currently closed for renovation until 2019. Additionally, The Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience is in Chinatown/International District is the only Asian Pacific American museum in the nation. Nearby is the Frye Art Museum, a small private collection featuring 232 paintings by Munich-based artists. Not a museum, but open to browsing by the public, is the Seattle Metaphysical Library, in Ballard, which specializes in material not found in normal libraries..
