Agreeably its as good as the ones in Beijing where they originated from. These ducks are raised locally in Yilan. The Silk Place has its own farm, hence the quality of the ducks are well-controlled to ensure nothing goes wrong.
Be sure to book the restaurant as soon as possible, because it could be booked up. We booked 2 months in advance. We were only given few time slots to choose from, so I encourage you to book early if you know you want to go.
The chefs are incrediby fast at slicing the duck skin - in fact now more than 10 minutes upon service to ensure the duck is juicy and the skin is crisp.
The roast duck skin with Sanxing green onions wrap (片皮鴨捲三星蔥餅) was a very nice twist to the usual way it is served. However, the Roast duck skin nigiri (櫻桃鴨握壽司) is the highlight of the day. The crisp skin explodes with flavor as the hot sushi rice envelopes your mouth. The only regret was not having more!
