Lake Senftenberg is an artificial lake in Landkreis Oberspreewald-Lausitz, Brandenburg, Germany. It is located in the Lusatian Lake District, a chain of artificial lakes. The lake is located on the border of Lower and Upper Lusatia between the southern Brandenburg city of Senftenberg and its districts Niemtsch and Großkoschen. Lake Senftenberg is one of the largest artificial lakes in Germany with an area of 1300 hectares.

Königstein Fortress , the Saxon Bastille, is a hilltop fortress near Dresden, in Saxon Switzerland, Germany, above the town of Königstein on the left bank of the River Elbe. It is one of the largest hilltop fortifications in Europe and sits atop the table hill of the same name. The 9.5 hectare rock plateau rises 240 metres above the Elbe and has over 50 buildings, some over 400 years old, that bear witness to the military and civilian life in the fortress. The rampart run of the fortress is 1,800 metres long with walls up to 42 metres high and steep sandstone faces. In the centre of the site is a 152.5 metre deep well, which is the deepest in Saxony and second deepest well in Europe. STREET VIEW: Ruine Hohenschramberg im Schwarzwald in GERMANY

Bei meinem ersten Rundgang durch Schramberg sah ich auch die Ruine Hohenschramberg. Allerdings war bei meinen ersten Besuch in Schramberg keine Zeit mehr zum Aufstieg zur Burg. Beim zweiten Anlauf suchte ich einen kürzeren Weg zur Burg, aber der offizielle Weg zur Burg war gesperrt. Die Umleitung war recht abenteuerlich und weit. Aber das Ziel hat den langen Umweg wieder wett gemacht. Die Burganlage ist beeindruckend und der Ausblick gigantisch.

Großzöbern is located in the southern part of Saxony, very close to the former inter German border but within East Germany/ Curious to find relics of the period, including the exact location of the border I visit the village to see what I can find. As it turns out I find next to nothing!
