Circular Pyramids in Mexico!?!
One of the many unexplained mysteries in Mexico lies with Guachimontones in Jalisco, Mexico.

For today's Guadalajara vlog, we're headed for an adventure. A mere 1 hour from the center of the city is Guachimontones alien like pyramids in Mexico. They are the only round pyramids that exist in the world.
If you're looking for what to do in Jalisco, Mexico we recommend this place for sure. It's one of many things to do close to Guadalajara. The best part is that it didn't cost anything! At least on the day we went, otherwise it would only be about 30 pesos (~$1.50).
There are some awesome and strange things in Mexico and this is one of the coolest we've seen. What remains of a small, ancient city is quite the sight to behold. It's considered one of the unexplained things in Mexico because they don't quite know who built them, who named them, what their purpose was, and other details like that.
Maybe it's the element of mystery that give it some of its charm. It could also be the gorgeous view overlooking a lake and town below. Make sure to wear good hiking/walking shoes, pack some snacks and water, and you'll probably enjoy this activity while traveling in Mexico too.

En Tequila hay varias actividades por realizar, por ejemplo la visita guiada a una de las fábricas de Tequila antiguas de México, “la Rojeña” de José Cuervo. Un tour dentro de ella y además una cata educativa de Tequila te dejarán sorprendido con cada uno de los detalles de su elaboración y la manera correcta en que hay que beberlo. Visita la Cascada los Azules, es toda una aventura llegar a este maravilloso lugar. Te recomendamos contratar a un guía experto en la zona o ir con alguien que conozca perfectamente el camino para evitar accidentes o que te pierdas. Recuerda llevar traje de baño por si quieres refrescarte en sus cristalinas aguas y también agua para beber porque lo vas a necesitar. Zapato cómodo y ganas de aventura.

La Palapita es una excelente opción para comer, es un lugar limpio y agradable. Su especialidad son los mariscos, nosotros te recomendamos probar los camarones al carbón y el aguachile, están buenísimos.
Otra opción para comer es el Mercado de Comidas de Cleofas Mota que se encuentra en el centro. Aquí encontrarás platillos típicos a un precio bastante accesible.

Guachimontones Circular Pyramids & Shaman
Here are a few minutes in Guachimontones..The only place in the world with circular Pyramids. Filmed with a Fujifilm XT10.
Los Guachimontones (alternatively Huachimontones) is a prehispanic archaeological site near the Mexican town of Teuchitlán in the state of Jalisco about an hour west of Guadalajara. It is the major site of the so-called Teuchitlan tradition,[1] a complex society that existed from as early as 300 BCE until perhaps 900 CE.
The dominant features at los Guachimontones are circular stepped pyramids in the middle of circular building complexes. The 60-foot (18 m) tall pyramid at Circle 2 has 13 high steps leading to an upper level, which was then topped with another 4 high steps. A post hole was located at the very highest level, most likely for Volador ceremonies.[1] The pyramids may also have supported small temples.
The word Teuchitlán is derived from Teotzitlán or Teutzitlán interpreted as place dedicated to the divine, place of the God Tenoch or place dedicated to the revered God.[2]
Possibly the city foundation goes back to the Aztecs, which erected it on a hill called Huachimontón, north of its current location.[2] It was founded by members of Nahuatlacas groups that developed central Mexico during the postclassical period, however it is known that buildings at Teuchitlán were built prior to such development. The creative culture that constructed 'Guachimontones' is called Teuchitlan tradition, its apogee was between 200 and 400 CE, disappearing in about 900 CE, possibly before the arrival of the Anahuaca colonists.

For anyone thinking of traveling to Mexico alone you definitely should. Don't even think about it twice just go, you will not regret it and it will be one the best things you've ever done. The media gives Mexico a bad reputation but in reality it's actually very safe. The people of Mexico are the friendliest warmest people you will ever meet and there are so many adventures to be had there, beautiful sights to be seen and lots of fun activities to do. This video is a small glimpse of my 1 week trip (not long enough).
