Aarburg Castle is a castle in the municipality of Aarburg in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland. It is located high above the town Aarburg on a steep, rocky hillside. The castle was built around a medieval castle, which controlled the narrow point on the Aare river and served as the seat of Aarburg Vogt. It is classified as a Swiss heritage site of national significance. Today it houses the Kantonale Jugendheim, for holding and rehabilitating juvenile offenders.

The Rhine Falls is the largest waterfall in Switzerland and Europe.The falls are located on the High Rhine on the border between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich , between the municipalities of Neuhausen am Rheinfall and Laufen-Uhwiesen/Dachsen , next to the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland. They are 150 metres wide and 23 metres high. In the winter months, the average water flow is 250 m3/s , while in the summer, the average water flow is 600 m3/s . The highest flow ever measured was 1,250 cubic metres per second in 1965; and the lowest, 95 cubic metres per second in 1921.The falls can not be climbed by fish, except by eels that are able to eel their way up over the rocks.

The Trümmelbach Falls in Switzerland are a series of ten glacier-fed waterfalls inside the mountain made accessible by a tunnel-funicular, built 1913, stairs, and illumination. Located in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the creek called Trümmelbach alone drains the glacier defiles of Eiger , Mönch , and Jungfrau and carries more than 20,000 tons of boulder detritus per year.Its drainage area is 24 square kilometres , half of it covered by snow and glaciers. The Staubbach Fall is a waterfall in Switzerland, located just west above Lauterbrunnen in the Bernese Highlands. The waterfall drops 297 metres from a hanging valley that ends in overhanging cliffs above the Weisse Lütschine.The stream, on reaching the verge of the rocky walls of the valley, forms a cascade so high that it is almost lost in spray before it reaches the level of the valley. After rain, and early in the season when fed by the melting snows, the Staubbach Fall is a very striking object. The Top of Europe is a high-altitude building located in the Swiss canton of Valais. It overlooks the eternal snows of the Aletsch Glacier from the south side of the Jungfraujoch, at a height of 3,454 metres above sea level. It is connected to the underground Jungfraujoch railway station by a tunnel and to the Sphinx Observatory by an elevator. It has five levels.The Top of Europe includes several restaurants and a permanent exhibition about the Jungfrau Railway and the Alps. It also includes Europe’s highest-altitude post office. Olten – a charming small Swiss town

The delightful town of Olten lies on the banks of the River Aare, and a little to the south of the Jura Mountains. It is a great place to visit by train, being only 30 minutes from Zurich, Bern, Basel and Lucerne. My film shows the pedestrianised streets of the old part, which forms the centre of the town, with its attractive shops by day and lively nightlife by night. Many of the old-style Swiss buildings like the Rathskeller are occupied by hotels, bars and restaurants – for this is a town that attracts a lot of conferences. The film shows some of the peaceful squares and interesting churches, towers and fortresses to be explored, along with the fascinating roofed-in wooden foot bridge. The jolly background music just emphasises how pleasant it is to live in these small traditional Swiss towns.

The city of Zofingen, in the Swiss canton of Aargau, has a long history dating back to the 12th century and beyond. It prospered as a walled market town because it was on the trade route from Basel to Lucerne, and as the film shows it has some fine historic architecture. The gentle music soundtrack underlines the peacefulness of the city on a sunny winter’s day, with people going quietly about their business on foot and by bicycle, so that when some traffic is seen on the outskirts near the end of the film, it is quite a surprise!
