Life And Death Row: The Mass Execution is a documentary series about the historic number of executions scheduled in Arkansas, USA, of eight men in ten days. The Governor of Arkansas, Asa Hutchinson, has scheduled eight men to be put to death within ten days of each other. The reason for the unprecedented timetable is to use up the state's supply of a lethal injection drug called midazolam before it expires.


In this episode we meet death row inmate Stacey Johnson, who is scheduled to be executed for the murder of Carol Heath - a crime that he claims he didn't commit.

My name is Carlos Anguiano Sorribas. I'm an exchange student from Spain living in Ashdown, Arkansas, with the Day's. I was born January 20, 1997, in Barcelona.

I have been playing soccer since I was five years old, and last year was my first year kicking a football at Genoa Central High School. I really love it. My first field goals weren't very good, but I worked hard every day to become a good college kicker. I tried to learn all that I could watching YouTube videos about college kickers. Now that the football season is over, I lift weights and kick every day by myself since my current school, Trinity Christian, does not offer a football program. All this effort and determination is just for one thing: Become a college kicker.

I think that my season was decent last year considering it was my first year, and it all was new for me. My largest field goal at the game was a 53 yarder and at practice 61 yards. I kicked many touch backs, too. I used to make +45 yards punt, but I know that I can be so much better if someone could just teach me. I am kicking and lifting weights by myself EVERYDAY, and I am trying to learn all I can watching videos, but I think that this is not enough. I am sure that if someone teach me, I can do great things.

Last Christmas break, I went to a Kicking Camp in Dallas (Prokicker.com). I had a good punt and 100% accuracy on field goals (30-50 yards in both hashes). My kick off was not as good as I want; my average of distance was 57 yards. Now my kick off has improved a lot, and I am constant kicking 60-65 yards.

If I want to get a scholarship, I know that my grades must be good. That why I'm studying hard for have the grades that I need. I have taken my ACT test one time, and my score was 21.

My junior year grades at Genoa Central High School were:

I knew that if I wanted to play college football I should be here this year, so I decided to come back after the summer to the US to keep working on my kicking and to get in touch with football coaches. I am studying at Trinity Christian School. AAA does not let me play any sports this year, but there won't be any problem if I play college sports. Everyday, I go to the Ashdown Football field where I spend 2 hours kicking. Then, I go to Anytime Fitness and workout for two more hours. I don't have time to do my homework after that, so I wake up at 5:30 to study.

The video comes from the forward-facing on-board image recorders from the two trains involved in the accident. Video from the Grain Train lead locomotive 6990 was downloaded from the undamaged GE Lococam on-board image recorder. Parametric data from the Grain Train lead locomotive 6990 was downloaded from the undamaged event recorder. Video from the Crude Oil Train lead locomotive 4934 was obtained from data transmitted wirelessly when the emergency brakes were applied, and parametric data was downloaded from the trailing distributed power unit locomotive 6684.

The video begins at 14:08:37 Central Standard Time (CST) with the view from the front of the Grain Train as it travels westbound on main track 1. The text “Grain Train #6990” and the speed of the train are displayed at the bottom center of the screen. The westbound direction of travel is briefly indicated by a text annotation. The train passes a track switch and a vehicle belonging to a signal maintainer at 14:09:06; the vehicle is labeled by a text annotation for about 10 seconds as the train approaches the vehicle. The front end of the crude oil train begins to be visible on the adjacent track to the left at about 14:09:41, and it is labeled with a text annotation. The derailment of the Grain Train occurs at 14:09:57, after which time a digital counter is shown on the right in the image, indicating the time in seconds since the derailment. A text annotation indicates that the emergency brakes on the Grain Train were applied at 14:10:13, uncommanded by the train crew. At 14:10:33, the lead locomotive of the Crude Oil Train passes the lead locomotive of the Grain Train.

At 14:11:02, the video switches to the view from the front of the Crude Oil Train as it travels eastbound on main track 2. The text “Crude Oil Train #4934” and the speed of the train are displayed at the bottom center of the screen. The eastbound direction of travel is briefly indicated by a text annotation. A text annotation indicates an engineer-induced emergency brake application on the Crude Oil Train occurred at 14:11:03. A
text annotation also points out the 45th car in the Grain Train, which is fouling main track 2. The Crude Oil Train strikes the 45th car in the Grain Train at 14:11:12, leading to derailment of the Crude Oil Train, which departs main track 2 to the right and apparently comes to rest once impacting the built-up ballast supporting a parallel set of railroad tracks.

The video includes an audio overlay of radio traffic broadcast over radio channel 70, with communications from the Grain Train, the Crude Oil Train, the dispatcher and the signal maintainer passed by the Grain Train at 14:09:06. The audio begins with a call from the signal maintainer to the crew of the Grain Train at 14:10:31, and ends at 14:11:59 after the crew of the Crude Oil Train have reported the derailment and subsequent fire to the dispatcher.

Severe Storms, Possible Tornadoes Strike the Mid-South; At Least 2 Dead
At least two people died and numerous homes in several states were damaged or destroyed as powerful storms hammered the mid-South on Saturday.
Logan County, Kentucky, Sheriff Clint Wright confirmed during a WHOP-AM Facebook live broadcast that a woman died in a home on Dot Road near Adairville. Logan County Sheriff’s Captain David Kitchens identified the victim as 79-year-old Dallas Jane Combs, WHOP-AM also reported.

Wright said the woman's husband was injured, but the extent of his injuries is unknown.

The house was completely demolished, Logan County Sheriff Wallace Whittaker told the Bowling Green Daily News. We have grain bins down, houses destroyed, we've got at least 500 people without power.
If a tornado is confirmed, the death in Logan County will mark the end of the longest period on record in the United States without a tornado-related fatality. The last deaths attributed to a tornado occurred May 16, 2017, in Wisconsin and Texas – 263 days ago as of Saturday.

Another death was reported in Clay County, Arkansas, when a trailer was blown into a nearby pond by strong winds, KAIT-TV reported. In a Facebook post, the Clay County Sheriff's Department identified the victim as Alvin Foster.

Tonight's storms have resulted in severe damage to several areas of Clay County, the post added. Reports of power outages, power poles down, and flooded roads have been reported at this time.

In northwestern Tennessee, homes were damaged and residents were reportedly trapped by debris near the town of Union City Saturday night. To the east, the National Weather Service said significant structural damage and at least two injuries were reported east of Clarksville just after 9 p.m. CST.
Heavy damage was reported from another possible tornado in Keiser, Arkansas, according to the local sheriff's department. Authorities in Keiser reported no injuries after the damage was surveyed.
At least 10,000 homes and businesses were without power statewide Saturday night, according to PowerOutage.us, and more than 18,000 customers in Kentucky were in the dark.

The NWS also reported structural damage and multiple non-life-threatening injuries late Saturday night in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, northwest of Adairville.
Another powerful storm was reported Saturday night in the southeastern Missouri town of Malden, where local law enforcement said some 20 homes were damaged and injuries were reported.
Earlier Saturday, winds from thunderstorms tearing through the mid-South downed trees and destroyed structures in Texas and Oklahoma. Trees were downed in the southeastern Oklahoma town of Valliant Saturday afternoon.

Authorities in Hopewell, Texas, say there have been multiple reports of wind damage, including a carport that was damaged and a barn that was destroyed.

Trees were also reportedly downed after a thunderstorm packing high winds tore through Driggs, in northwestern Arkansas.

A late-winter squall line is moving across the mid-South. Conditions are favorable for tornadoes, gusty winds, flash flooding and large hail this evening, weather.com meteorologist Jonathan Belles said.

Squall lines become increasingly common during the late-winter and early-spring months due to the rebound of warm, subtropical air from the Gulf of Mexico and still-strong jet stream left over from winter, Belles added.
