1. Cologne Cathedral - Very beautiful. So close to the train station. The colour of the cathedral changed from dark to bright as the sun shone through the clouds.
2. Cologne's Old Town - Here you can enjoy a draft Kölsch beer or try Cologne’s typical Halver Hahn sandwich.
3. The Wallraf-Richartz and Ludwig Museums - Good permanent collections. The section about local explorers is quite unique and interesting.
4. The Roman-Germanic Museum - Excellent place to spend a day. And you'll need a whole day to appreciate it.
5. St. Gereon's Church - One of the famous Romanesque churches of Köln - most of them where heavily rebuilt after the Second World War. The plan is very interesting.
6. The Cologne Cable Car - One can see the beautiful River Rhine below. Nice people and good service. Not so expensive.
7. Old Town Hall - The town hall is very pretty - and view from the top is even better. The view from the top is beautiful, and well worth the effort.

9. Altenberg Cathedral - Very nice setting with lots of old trees and a small river close by.
10. Augustusburg and Falkenlust Palaces - Beautiful castle with a very beautiful garden.
11. The Museum of Applied Art - Architecture of Art Nouveau, third oldest applied arts museum in the world. Nice atrium ! very near central market.
12. Cologne Zoological Gardens - The zoo is big and has many sections. It has the biggest playground ever next to the elephant area! The fees already cover for both sides.
