The Bicol Region, also known simply as Bicol and historically known as Ibalong prior to Spanish colonization, is a region of the Philippines, designated as Region V. Bicol comprises six provinces, four on the Bicol Peninsula mainland – Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Sorsogon – and the offshore island provinces of Catanduanes and Masbate.The regional center and largest city is Legazpi City. The region is bounded by the Lamon Bay to the north, Philippine Sea to the east, and the Sibuyan Sea and Ragay Gulf to the west. The Cagsawa Ruins are the remnants of a 16th-century Franciscan church, the Cagsawa church. It was originally built in the town of Cagsawa in 1587 but was burned down by Dutch pirates in 1636. It was rebuilt in 1724 by Fr. Francisco Blanco, but was destroyed again, along with the town of Cagsawa, in February 1, 1814, during the eruption of the Mayon Volcano. The ruins are currently located in Barangay Busay, Cagsawa, in the municipality of Daraga, Albay, Philippines. It is part of Cagsawa Park, is protected and maintained by the municipal government of Daraga and the National Museum of the Philippines, and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area. Sorsogon: Pink Sand Subic Beach, Tikling Island, Juag Lagoon | Sony a6500 GoPro Hero5 DJI Mavic Pro

Sorsogon is the southernmost province in Luzon, Philippines. We went island hopping in Calintaan and Tikling. Subic Beach was everything we heard it would be, and more. Also found some hidden gems in the towns of Bulusan and Barcelona. We explored the biggest AF mangrove forest we’ve ever seen in the town of Prieto Diaz, with a beautiful sandbar as its finishing touch. The 14-hour drive from Manila was worth it. Glad I brought my drone. Enjoy the video! Cheers!

Boracay of Bicol | Poro Beach, Camarines Sur Bicol

Hi Everyone,

I was so lucky to explore Bicol for a week and damn it keeps on surprising me!

We have discovered this beach called Poro Beach- it's 2 hrs away from Naga City but it was all worth the hefty travel.
We used a van to get there note that the road going there is bad there's a part there where there's a mountain of soil on the side of the road. There are also deep craters on the road.

You have to take a boat ride for 1/2 hour which will cost you P100 each. The cottages are P300 to rent. It's so cheap! But you have to note that there is only one washroom and it's not clean because there's a lot of goat poop on the floor! So come with your swim clothes and get ready to go home with the same clothes. Bring your own food too because there's no stores on the actual beach.

The water is so clean!!! be wary of pink jelly fish - we're not sure if they sting we didn't get stung, but just be wary of them.

I hope you get to visit this amazing place!
