A travel guide on some things to do in Chamonix France. Took a day trip from Geneva to Mont Blanc and up the aiguille du midi cable car in the summer and it was beautiful. Some of these attractions we visited included the Chamonix town and step into the void among others. From the top of mont blanc we saw the french alps, swiss alps, and italian alps.

Switzerland 2018: The Haute Route (DOCUMENTARY)

This is a video documentary detailing Crew 8's 100+ Mile, 11 Day Hike through the Alps of Switzerland. Crew 8 is a youth led venture crew from Chatham, New Jersey. In the summer of 2018, they packed their backpacks for the Haute Route. The Haute Route is a historic walking trail in Switzerland, traveling from Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn, and is used by townspeople, farmers, and merchants to get from village to village.
After completing a 126 Mile trek at Philmont in 2016, the boys suited up once again for an international trip before the senior crew members headed to college. The Switzerland idea brought about a whole new set of complexities: we would need to communicate in French and German, navigate public transport, and traverse MUCH steeper inclinations/declinations. Though a shorter trek than Philmont by distance, our crew gained more elevation than the height of Mount Everest.
As Crew 8 is youth led, youth leaders Brad Rindos and Matt Goldstein were responsible for planning routes, food, accommodations, and fundraising before departure. Once on the trail, the youth were responsible for executing plans, ensuring safety, and making decisions.
The trip was a massive success. Besides being more versed culturally, all 11 participants have grown in scout spirit, teamwork abilities, self-confidence, and friendship. They would like to thank their families for all their support.

Probablement un des plus beau lac des Alpes, l'Oeschinensee (ou lac d'Oeschinen) vaut clairement le détour. Facile d'accès depuis le village de Kandersteg dans le canton de Bern en Suisse, les randonneurs de tous niveaux y trouveront leur compte ;)... Alors tous à vos chaussures de rando ;)

Lac bleu (Blausee) - Suisse
Grâce à sa couleur très particulière et à ses eaux cristallines provenant d'une source souterraine, le Blausee (Lac bleu) situé dans la commune de Kandersteg (BE) est un des lacs de montagne les plus connus de Suisse. Il est entouré d'un parc naturel de 20 hectares, un paysage façonné par un éboulement qui est aussi à l'origine de la formation du lac.
Le tour du lac est équipé de chemins pédestres ainsi que de places de pique-nique et de grillades. Sur les rives du lac, on trouve un hôtel-restaurant avec spa ainsi qu'un élevage de truites bio.

In August 2018, together with our parents, we completed one of the most beautiful long-distance hiking trails in the world - Tour du Mont Blanc. It leads through 3 countries: France, Italy and Switzerland. During 9 days we covered more than 170 kilometers, circling the entire Mont Blanc massif.

Le lac de Thoune est un lac alpin situé dans l'Oberland bernois en Suisse. Son nom lui vient de la ville de Thoune. Nous avons fais un tour d'environ 4 heures sur la lac avec un temps de rêve.
