Il vino delle Colline Lucchesi e del Montecarlo - versione inglese
An ideal land for various typologies of agricultural and food products, and having learnt winemaking from the Etruscans, Ligurians and the Romans, Lucca territory produces two controlled designation of origin wines or DOCs: Colline Lucchesi, and Montecarlo (an area that also includes the towns of Altopascio, Capánnori and Porcari).
Characterised by the nature of the soil, the mild climate and exposure to the sun -- as well as winegrower Giulio Magnani's grafting French grape species, such as Pinot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot, in the XIX century -- the wines of Lucca are outstanding for their uniqueness.
