Gamlitz is a municipality in the district of Leibnitz in Styria, Austria. In the first known document that mentions it , the settlement is called Gomilnitz, a reference either to the Slavic gomilca which denotes a small hill, or to gom ; indeed Gamlitz is situated among and between rolling hills. The tradition of the local castle goes back to the year 1111.

Riegersburg Castle is a medieval castle situated on a dormant volcano above the town of Riegersburg in the Austrian state of Styria. The castle is owned by the Princely Family of Liechtenstein and contains a museum with changing exhibitions. Riegersburg Castle is situated at a height of 450 m.

Hochosterwitz Castle is a castle in Austria, considered one of Austria's most impressive medieval castles. It is on a 172-metre high Dolomite rock near Sankt Georgen am Längsee, east of the town of Sankt Veit an der Glan in Carinthia. The rock castle is one of the state's landmarks and a major tourist attraction.

Comprising around 2,200 hectares of vineyards, the South Styrian Wine Land is the region’s largest and probably best-known winegrowing area. Some 950 vintners lovingly attend to the vines, usually by hand. After all, mechanical harvesting is frequently impossible due to the steepness of the slopes (up to 26% gradient).
The main towns in the wine country are Gamlitz, Leutschach and Kitzeck – the highest vineyard community in Austria. Poplars and chestnut trees exude a southern flair.
