3 places to see in KZN - (#ILoveSA Ep. 24)
On this episode of I love SA we experience traditional, authentic, Zulu culture just half an hour from Durban. From the ancient and fascinating Rastafarian Caves to the most authentic Zulu experiences and scenery of the Mznyathi falls. Keep watching as we uncover these spots in KZN.
1. Rasta Caves The Mzinyathi Gorge is home to the “Rastafarian Caves, These caves are home to a community of Rastafarians. Green Corridor Tours took us on a tricky hidden part to the natural rock caves. Learn about the Rastafarian people, their religion as well as view the Rastafarian temple, caves and rock houses (which they live in) as years old Ethiopian writing.
2. Mznyathi Falls
After an enlightening cultural experience, green corridors took us to the he Mzinyathi River which plunges down a beautiful sandstone amphitheater, over 100 m into the Mzinyathi gorge. Towering cliffs and thick forests make for an incredible day out. This is also a very popular rock climbing spot and after heavy rains, the falls are a truly impressive sight.
3. Inanda Mountains
The views are simply staggering, arguably the best outlook anywhere in Durban. The top of Inanda Mountain covered with clouds on some cold mountains add to the picturesque view. This is also an amazing bird watching site, especially in late morning when birds of prey catch the thermals off the cliff face and glide up right in front of you.
