Bivane Dam : about 45 km from Vryheid KZN South Africa. A recreational area built/completed in 2000 to serve local agricultural irrigation needs and the water needs of local communities. The facility also has a nature reserve containing small buck and leopards are known to inhabit this area as well. A good value for money getaway in a scenic, secluded corner of the Kwazulu Natal Province.

The deep valley of the Umzimkulwana River is one of the most spectacularly scenic areas of Kwazulu-Natal. Known as the Oribi Gorge, this haven for nature lovers and thrill seekers is located just over 20 km inland from Port Shepstone, on the Natal South Coast
The wild 5 adventures have loads of activities from Abseiling to white water rafting but what interested us was the Wild Swing!
The suspension bridge is also popular, it has a a magnificent view although if you are scared of heights this might not be for you.
Last stop was the leopards rock restaurant which overlooks the umzimkulu river and is a relaxing spot to have lunch and do some bird watching.

There are three private tented camp areas, each with its own unique creation, nestled in amongst bush thickets within the Lion territory. Your Guide will try get you to a sunset area to end a good day with a little sun downer in the bush, before getting you to an authentic traditional South African dinner in an open air Lapa. Once you have satisfied your taste buds you will be taken on a night drive to see the nocturnal side of wildlife, before settling in for the night in your private tented camp area. Your Guide will meet you in the morning for a morning game drive followed by a hearty breakfast in the Lapa, where after you will be dropped off safely at reception to head back to town.

The Klein Karoo
