It’s a vibrant, modern and welcoming city and its energy is infectious.
We were also lucky to go to the NBA Global Game between Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves, which was definitely my husband’s highlight of the trip! 3:48

The Metro system or Shanghai Subway is a really easy, cost effective and often the quickest way to get around the city of more than 24 million people. Instead of buying individual tickets opt for Shanghai Public Transportation Card - JIAO TONG KA.

China, officially the People's Republic of China (PRC), is a country in East Asia and the world's most populous country, with a population of around 1.404 billion.[13] Covering approximately 9,600,000 square kilometers (3,700,000 sq mi), it is the third- or fourth-largest country by total area.[k][19] Governed by the Communist Party of China, the state exercises jurisdiction over 22 provinces, five autonomous regions, four direct-controlled municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing), and the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau.
China emerged as one of the world's earliest civilizations, in the fertile basin of the Yellow River in the North China Plain. For millennia, China's political system was based on hereditary monarchies, or dynasties, beginning with the semi-legendary Xia dynasty in 21st century BCE.[20] Since then, China has expanded, fractured, and re-unified numerous times. In the 3rd century BCE, the Qin reunited core China and established the first Chinese empire. The succeeding Han dynasty, which ruled from 206 BC until 220 AD, saw some of the most advanced technology at that time, including papermaking and the compass,[21] along with agricultural and medical improvements.
A hotel is an establishment that provides paid lodging on a short-term basis. Facilities provided may range from a modest-quality mattress in a small room to large suites with bigger, higher-quality beds, a dresser, a refrigerator and other kitchen facilities, upholstered chairs, a flat screen television, and en-suite bathrooms. Scam City: Shanghai Massage Nanjing Road. Fan Bing Bing
This was my 3rd time in Shanghai. The other 2 times I visited I was not approached by any scam artist.
My hotel was near Nanjing Road each time, but this time I was approached and harassed at least 10 times when I walked down Nanjing Road even during the day time.
This is just one of the many times I was approached, but this time I recorded it.
BEWARE of scams in Shanghai because the local police won't help you. They're in on the take!
I did not fall victim to any of the scams but did some internet research and read a lot of unfortunate stories.
China's Thriving Pet Industry // Touring a Chinese Pet Market
The pet industry in China is growing every year. I break it all down while exploring the Chengdu Pet Market, an interesting place to explore if you're traveling to Chengdu. Cats, dogs, fish, and birds are the most popular pets, but exotic pets like groundhogs can be found in the market. We also found a huge variety of turtles, frogs, and even a stingray.
In Chinese, the market is called 新开街劫宠物市场 (Xinkai Jie Pet Market). It's located at 18 Xinkai St (成都新开街18号). If you'd like to visit Chengdu's pet market, take Metro line 1 to Jinjiang Hotel station - exit C1. Walk south and turn left on Yandao St. After 250 meters, turn left on Xinkai - the market is on the right.
