Musée rambolitrain
Le Musée Rambolitrain de Rambouillet (musée du train et de la maquette) est situé au cœur de la ville, à quelques pas de l'église Saint Lubin. Il fut fondé par Jacques Visbecq, un collectionneur patient à qui le musée doit non seulement l'essentiel des 4000 pièces exposées, mais aussi l'édifice qui les abrite, et Alain Baldit, un modéliste passionné et surdoué.
Au premier étage sont exposés des éléments de trains qui sont avant tout des jouets pour les enfants. Mais pour Alain Baldit, l'objet seul n'explique pas le rêve suscité par le train : Il n'y a pas que le train mais aussi tout ce qu'il y a autour du train; c'est-à-dire les gares, les destinations, les trajets et leurs beaux paysages, les accessoires, etc. ésentent, en plus des wagons et des locomotives de rigueur, des parties de gares finement réalisées, des lampadaires, des chariots repas et autres accessoires ferroviaires. Suite à la commémoration des 100 ans du Métropolitain en 2000, quelques wagons de métro sont venus augmenter la collection. La pièce la plus ancienne fut construite en 1895, en pleine révolution industrielle et expansion du train. L'idée est de perpétuer le souvenir d'un monde révolu
