The Dune of Pilat , also called Grande Dune du Pilat) is the tallest sand dune in Europe. It is located in La Teste-de-Buch in the Arcachon Bay area, France, 60 km from Bordeaux. With more than one million visitors per year, the Dune of Pilat is a famous tourist destination.

European Tour 2019 - France part Deux

We continue our Tour of Europe in our self build Mercedes Sprinter Camper Van. Living in the van full time as we drive down though southwest France on our way to southern Spain and Portugal.
We continue where we left you last at a lovely beach resort called St Georges de Didonne where we parked in a small Aire right next to the lighthouse.
There are 4 motorhome parks in the town and this is the first one we had to pay €10 per night but worth it for the location and scenic promenade walk. The town centre Aire has water and waste facilities.

After leaving St Georges we continue our drive further south in search of the winter sun to an area on the west coast called Le Bassin, a huge body of inland water fed from the sea where we stayed in a nature reserve at a small town called Le Teich.
This was another free parking spot in a beautiful location, surrounding parkland and right next to the marina. The nearby visitor centre had clean toilets and a cafe with free wifi.

From the nature reserve at Le Teich we stop for lunch by the sea at Arcachon there is a beautiful beach and we park the van right next to a carrosel ride on the sea front.
Then just a short drive down the coast to one fo the most amazing places I have seen the Grand Dune of Pyla, the largest sand dune in Europe, they were like mountains.
Steep climb to the top of the dunes gave way to a breathtaking view of the surrounding forest and sea, where paragliders soared effortlessly on the rising thermals.

Greetings from Madrid, Spain. Hello hello. And this is a city we visited 2.5 years ago in the summer. We're back with my parents this time and we're going to be here for just a few days making a little travel guide and we hope you guys will join along. This one is going to be a little bit different because last time we were in Madrid we ran around like crazy. We're going to take it easy focus on the highlights. Focus on food. Delicious Spanish food. We hope you guys will enjoy our little tour of Madrid.

The armoury turned out to be a real highlight with weapons and armour dating back from the 16th and 17th centuries.

We caught a glimpse at the Almudena Cathedral and continued towards the Sabatini Gardens, which are located directly behind the palace.

After lunch, we visited the Temple of Debod. This is ancient Egyptian temple that was given to Spain as a sign of gratitude for their help in saving the Abu Simbel temples. It dates back to the 2nd century BC and it’s one of the few works of ancient Egyptian architecture that can be seen outside of Egypt.

Plaza Mayor is the main square in Madrid. It is lined with shops and cafes under its porticoes. It was just a skip over to one of the most popular food markets with visitors.

Buen Retiro is a large park located at the edge of the city centre. It belonged to the Spanish Monarchy until the late 19th century, when it became a public park, and it’s home to various gardens, sculptures, monuments and small palaces

One of the most iconic buildings found within the park is the Crystal Palace, made of glass and iron, which is used for art exhibits throughout the year.

This cafe will make you feel like you’ve been transported back to the late nineteenth century. The walls are covered in mirrors and wood panelling, the tables are of white marble, the chairs and banquettes are deep green in colour.

Last but not least, we finished off our visit with an evening stroll through Madrid, and that pretty much wraps our trip! The city clearly has much more to offer than we were able to cover in just 3 days, but we hope this Madrid travel guide gave you a few ideas of what you can do with a short break in the city. Bormes Les Mimosas, Cote d'Azur France | DJI Mavic Pro Cinematic Edit

Bormes Les Mimosas is a beautiful medieval French village perched on a mountain overlooking the Mediterranean. The castle ruins at the top called the Château des Seigneurs de Fos date from the 12th century. The video was filmed with the DJI Mavic Pro at golden hour. Head to Jetée Thiers, a small pier near some of the city's best beaches and restaurants, to catch a ride to the scenic Cap Ferret and tour the Arcachon Bay. Thiers Jetty is where you go to catch most of the boat tours to other islands. It's also the central part of Tourist section of Arcachon. You can watch the sunset from here. There is usually live music in the evening in summertime.

It's a jetty that sticks out into the sea from the land. The beach between this and the other jetty is a beautiful sandy affair, if not a tad small. However this jetty and the beach and the promenade are all very nice to walk around.

The Art and Meaning of Ikebana (1973)

The Art and Meaning of Ikebana looks at ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement, as it's applied to a variety of arts, places and practices in Japan, including architecture, homes, temples, gardens, furniture, lacquerware, wall paintings, sliding panels, modern sculpture and noh drama. Ikebana constitutes much more than flowers in a vase. The film is done in a zen-like style of simple shots edited in a non-linear fashion and following their own logic, without being tied to the narration or music track, both of which are much more low-key than usual in films like this. It isn't just the floral arrangements or artwork on display that are beautiful, but the whole look and feel of the film as well. This 27-minute film was made in 1973 by Sakura Motion Picture Co., Ltd. and presented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
