1. Certosa di Padula Padula
Padula Charterhouse, in Italian Certosa di Padula , is a large Carthusian monastery, or charterhouse, located in the town of Padula, in the Cilento National Park, in Southern Italy. It is a World Heritage site. The monastery is the largest in Italy. Its building history covers 450 years, but the principal parts of the buildings are in Baroque style. It is a very large monastery, comprising 51,500 m² , with 320 rooms and halls.

One of the top 10 spectacular-view hikes I've taken. Trail starts in the small village of Termini, a short bus ride from Sorrento. This Punta della Campanella trail is popular among hiking clubs, tourist who love to hike, and anyone who enjoys sea views and crumbling lighthouses, the destination. Hike takes about 4-5 hours if you include the church above Termini. Tip: At the end of the hike, go to the lemoncello factory near the bus stop for some refreshment on site and to take home.
