We had a field trip to the town of Alba in Piedmont, Italy.
- Visited the vineyard
- Watched how the truffle hunter hunts for black and white truffles
- Visited the local butcher store and the farm
- Had lunch at Repubblica di Perno Ristorante
- Did some shopping at a wine store at Fontana Fredda

Cross country run on the hills of Tuscany Italy
Passing thru Fiesole uphill run to Monteloro enjoying the nice view of the valleys and hills. Nice villas and vineyards up to Montesenario choosing a mountain trail that goes around the hill. About 20 km run with alternating sunlight, rain and fog along the way. Excellent season nature accompaned with the country songs of Ernie Oldfield. My problem later is how to wash my running shoes!

100% of the energy used comes from renewable sources. All lights are LED to encourage energy savings. The nighttime lighting of the house is oriented towards the ground so as not to cause light pollution. The nights are covered by blankets of stars and the sky comes to the horizon. This is a beautiful and unique place to admire the Milky Way and many constellations.
Heating, such as the hot water in the showers, is provided by solar panels, a fireplace, and a condensing boiler. Rainwater is used for agricultural irrigation.
The breakfast, like all the dishes of our restaurant, are made with organic goods from farms in the area.
We are certified organic and cultivate spirulina, saffron, Stevia, fruits, and vegetables following the organic synergistic and biodynamic method. Since 2015, we have cultivated 1 hectare of the truffle Tuber Brumale.
Throughout the farm there are mangers, natural and artificial nests, to help in times of difficulty for small winter birds and during the summer for migratory birds. While sitting in the pool, it is easy to enjoy bird watching.
A pond filled with aquatic plants is the home of many dragonflies, aquatic insects, frogs and reptiles that help us in the proper balance of the foodweb, pollination, and biodiversity conservation.
Our many flowered areas are home many species of caterpillars and later their butterflies.
The property is suitable for children aged 14 and over. We have available a maxiumum of 18 beds in rooms use single, double, triple and quadruple, all with private bath and entrance.
All guests have access to a porch furnished with comfortable sofas and pillows, a garden with an olive tree under which there are tables, chairs, a chaise longue, hammocks, and a gazebo to enjoy exquisite moments of relaxation, and a straw theater where during the summer you can watch movies under the stars as well as live shows of various kinds.
An organic pool awaits you in the summer months with its salt water, and all year round you can swim in a romantic wood-heated bath for two.

18 holes on UNA Poggio dei Medici Golf Course
UNA Poggio dei Medici is a beautiful golf course in Tuscany, near Florence and Bologna. It's part of the hotel chain UNA and situated close to Scarperia. It is a course situated in the hills, so a lot of walking is necessary. The course is surrounded by water, trees, vallies and hills and has a lot of beautiful views on the Tuscany hills. It's a good place to stay for a short holiday break or to visit while you're exploring Tuscany.

De baan ligt in de heuvels, dus je bent veel aan het lopen. Verder veel waterhindernissen, bomen, valleien en heuvels en vooral heel veel mooie uitzichten op de Toscaanse heuvels.
