Seaside Farm Etruscan Coast Tuscany
We are delighted to welcome you to Seaside Farm.
Our farm, dating back to the early 19th century, is one of the oldest in the area. Once a country house, it has been completely renovated in order to host the many tourists from around the world who honour us with their presence. We have maintained the typical features of ancient Tuscan-style farmhouses, such as the wide front staircase with balcony, one of the rare examples left in Tuscan architecture, or the vaulted ceilings that characterise the ground floor of the farmhouse, which once housed animals.
Time seems to have stood still at Seaside Farm, far from city chaos and immersed in the green and tranquillity of the countryside, yet still near the sea. The Podere offers apartments that sleep from two to eight people, or comfortable villas with fully equipped private gardens; these villas are located in the farmhouse’s park and sleep from four to eleven people.
The farm’s large park boasts a swimming pool equipped with tropical-style umbrellas and chaise-lounges for sunbathing, a play area for children and several gazeboes for eating outdoors, perhaps using the barbecue grills available throughout the park.
Each accommodation is fully equipped for outdoor meals, and the park, which extends for 10 hectares, makes Seaside Farm perfect for children’s games.
Surrounding the park are 50 hectares of vineyards and olive groves belonging to Podere; wine and olive oil products can be purchased at the farm.
We are located in a strategic position: for example, the beach is just a five minute drive away, and guests can easily return in the late afternoon to enjoy the cool air and quiet by the pool and in the park surrounding the farmhouse.
This is what sets us apart. Our location allows you to make Seaside Farm the ideal starting point for visiting the important and well-known tourist and artistic centres of our beautiful region.
The “Galileo Galilei” airport in Pisa, the most important in Tuscany, can be reached in half an hour by car thanks to a truly efficient road link.
Also worth mentioning are the many locations of artistic interest in Tuscany, such as Volterra and San Gimignano, which are only about 30 minutes away from the farmhouse. Florence can be reached in just one hour thanks to an extremely convenient motorway link. Tourists who wish to visit Siena can travel one of the most scenic routes in all of Tuscany, which goes from Podere to Volterra, continuing on to Monteriggioni and, finally, Siena, whilst enjoying truly breathtaking scenery.
Along the road, no one is able to resist stopping to photograph the typical Tuscan countryside, with its many gentle hills and ancient villages rich in history.
Honourable mention goes to the famous village of Bolgheri, renowned worldwide for its wines (Sassicaia, Ornellaia, Masseto, etc.), located just 10 minutes from the farm.
You travel along the beautiful cypress-lined avenue, so dear to the poet Giosuè Carducci, to reach a fascinating ancient village.
The New York Times classified Bolgheri and its environs 44th on a list of the most beautiful places to visit in the world, whilst Forbes magazine has published many articles on the area and its renowned wines.
The magnificent Etruscan Coast, a paradise for children with its 20 km of beaches, awaits you. Every day you can choose a different beach to visit amongst the sandy ones set against the backdrop of the beautiful Mediterranean pine forest.
A pine forest which is also the ideal place for long walks and jogging.
In short, the heart of Tuscany awaits you, as do we at Seaside Farm!

POGGIO SANTA CECILIA - TUSCANY - ITALY - by Castelli & Rovine
POGGIO SANTA CECILIA - TUSCANY - ITALY -
Santa Cecilia , this little town situated on a hill hides a surprise.
Well, in this enchanted and rich of history place , you’ll find
yourself in front of a very particular situation: in fact today the
town is a ghost town , completely uninhabited, silent and mysterious.
The village , denominated Poggio di Santa Cecilia, was built on the
ruins of an ancient medieval castle and has origins already documented
since 1198, when it had a strategic importance on the territory on the
border between Florence and Siena, but it seems that the origins are
to research since the Etruscans period.
In this village Giuseppe Garibaldi stopped for a few days to care a
wound on his feet , done in Calabria, during the fights for invasion
of “Le due Sicilie”.
A plaque situated in Piazza Garibaldi reminds what happened.
Situated on a dominating position, it is surrounded by a romantic park,
which goes down from the hill, and by a boundary wall, which reminds
of ancient fortified structures, as for the internal structure , which
develops along a main axis, which links to the entry of the town to
the church. The village , was modified in the years but still
preserves his original charm.
When we enter in Poggio Santa Cecilia we don’t have to expect to find
ruins , but the village is almost intact, although the mystery on the
reasons and times of abandonment are not existent, people believes it
has been abandoned around the end of 1950 , in a speedy way, leaving
furniture and personal effects inside the houses as to escape from
what we don’t know.
In some houses we have found some wardrobe full of dresses.
