Dresden, capital of the eastern German state of Saxony, is distinguished by the celebrated art museums and classic architecture of its reconstructed old town. Completed in 1743 and rebuilt after WWII, the baroque church Frauenkirche is famed for its grand dome. The Versailles-inspired Zwinger palace houses museums including Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister, exhibiting masterpieces of art like Raphael’s “Sistine Madonna.”
There are few city silhouettes more striking than Dresden’s. The classic view from the Elbe’s northern bank takes in spires, towers and domes belonging to palaces, churches and stately buildings, and indeed it's hard to believe that the city was all but wiped off the map by Allied bombings in 1945.
Dresden's cultural heyday came under the 18th-century reign of Augustus the Strong (August der Starke) and his son Augustus III, who produced many of Dresden’s iconic buildings, including the Zwinger and the Frauenkirche. While the devastating 1945 allied firestorm levelled most of these treasures, their contents were safely removed before the bombings and now take pride of place in Dresden's rebuilt museums.
The city has had a few tough years of late, however. In 2014, a populist protest movement called PEGIDA (Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West), was founded here and quickly became a nationwide phenomenon. But although the city, once known as the 'Florence of the North', gave birth to this anti-Islamic movement, the overwhelming majority of Dresden's residents do not agree with its message. It's hard to find a single museum, cultural institute or university here that isn't bedecked with large signs declaring support for multiculturalism, welcoming migrants and generally subverting the PEGIDA message, which itself seems to have lost public support in the intervening period. Dresden and its surroundings may have been nicknamed the valley of the clueless under communism (due to locals not being able to pick up West German TV), but its public institutions now proclaim themselves für ein weltoffenes Dresden ('for a Dresden open to the world'). Take some time to get to know this fascinating, contradictory city.
Dresden is a very beautiful, light spirited city, especially in summer, when you can appreciate the serene setting of the historic centre. Fairytale city of Baroque and Classical architecture. . . . buildings like elaborate wedding cakes, dripping with gold frosting, winners of any sandcastle prize. Dresden was fire-bombed to rubble in February 1945. Today it's a beautiful woman who's been abused, standing tall again, her wounds still slightly visible. She's been put back together painstakingly, lovingly, with donations from all over the world. For us, the highlight of Dresden is Frauenkirche, the Church of Our Lady. Hauntingly, the goldsmith who made the new cross for its dome is the son of a Royal Air Force pilot who helped bomb it. Builders have carefully put many of her original limestone blocks, darkened by time, back in their exact place in the walls amidst the new, lighter blocks. Her pockmarked face, which will color uniformly in 200 years, is the saddest, most heartbreakingly beautiful structure in rebuilt Dresden. How could we have done this? an agonized American tourist asks. The German guide in our group answers, humbly, We started it.

Der Harz bietet wirklich schöne Wanderwege,Flora und Fauna.
Ein wirklich schöner Ort zum Erholen , Energie tanken!
Wir wandern in diesem Video durch ein Flussbett bis an einen Wanderweg der an einem Berg bis zu einem Wasserfall führt!
Auf dem Rückweg sahen wir das der Fluss wieder voll geflutet war
und wir wirklich Glück hatten das wir frühzeitig wieder aus dem Flussbett raus waren.
Also dieses Video ist nicht zur Nachahmung geeignet.
Für uns Stadtkinder aus Hannover war dieser Ausflug in die Natur wirklich unglaublich schön.Gerade auch weil der Harz relativ nah an Hannover liegt werden wir diesen Trip unbedingt wiederholen!

The Harz Mountain Range got a lot of beautiful tracking routes.
A really beautiful Place to relax and charge your soul.
We are tracking through an empty Riverbed,then we take a trail along a Mountain until we reached our Destination...a small Waterfall.
On our way back home we saw that the River was flooded,so we got a lot of luck that we had already passed the River.Otherwise it could have been very dangerous for us!!
This is a cool Natural Spot for us because we are from Hannover( a small grey city) and the Harz Mountain Range is not so far away.
So that´s why we love the Harz , and we are looking forward to come back to this beautiful Place.
