Rovaniemi in Lapland, Finland is the hometown of Santa Claus and Christmas magic can be experienced every day of the year in Santa Claus Village, Arctic Circle. As the cultural capital of Lapland, Rovaniemi is also home to Lapland's Provincial Museum Arktikum as well as the Pilke Science Centre and the Korundi House of Culture which also houses the Rovaniemi Museum of Art.
For animal lovers, the various reindeer and husky farms are a must along with the Ranua Zoo that specialises in Arctic fauna; its ‘royal residents’ are the mighty polar bears and their cousins, the Finnish brown bears.

Santa Claus Village + Reindeer & Husky Sledding! | Finland Travel Vlog 03
This week I began my adventure in Lapland/Rovaniemi, the northern part of Finland where all winter dreams are fulfilled. I went back in time to Christmas again, rode a reindeer and husky sled, went to the most epic tube slide, and ate the best grilled salmon that ever entered my mouth. Good times.

One of the most remarkable features of Finland is light. When the endless sunshine of summer gives way to dark winter, the Northern Lights appear like magic and lighten up the sky. The further north you go, the greater the chances of spotting the Aurora Borealis – in Finnish Lapland they can appear on 200 nights a year. In Helsinki and the south, the Aurorae can be seen on roughly 20 nights a winter, away from city lights.
