Shantou, formerly romanized as Swatow and sometimes known as Santow, is a prefecture-level city on the eastern coast of Guangdong, China, with a total population of 5,391,028 as of 2010 and an administrative area of 2,064 square kilometres . Dongshan is a county of far southern Fujian Province, People's Republic of China, located along the Taiwan Strait. It comprises 44 islands for a total area of 194 square kilometres and is under the administration of Zhangzhou City. The total population was 200,000. Dongshan County has jurisdiction over seven towns, a nationally managed forest and an economic and technological development district. It is an important port for international trade and trade with Taiwan.

Hello Youtube! This is my Shantou Vlog. I went to visit my relatives there for the first time, it was amazing to see back my roots. I am from Singapore, back then my grandparents travelled by a small boat to Singapore to earn for a living. It was not easy, after all their blood, sweat and tears, here I am, living in Singapore healthily. So, if you are from America or Australia or any other places, always remember your roots and acknowledge how hard your past ancestors have gone through those hardships.

Lotus Pond Market - Wholesale Shopping in China

One of the largest wholesale markets in China is located south of Chengdu's North Rail Station. The Lotus Pond Market or He Hua Chi (荷花池市场) seems to go forever. It's alleys, streets, and buildings all packed with shops. Many of the stores around the city get their supply from Lotus Pond Market. If you want to buy in bulk, or you're looking for a decent price, this is the place to shop. Just be sure to barter hard.
