Ouro Preto, Mariana, Mina da Passagem - Minas Gerais, Brazil | travel guide
Ouro Preto and Mariana are cities in the Minas Gerais state in Brazil, near to which were big discoveries of gold. In both cities are located numerous churches with stunning golden decorations. In the mines around those cities, so much gold was mined, that in the 18th century they were one of the biggest gold producers to Portuguese kingdom. Nowadays this past wealth is reminded by rich decorations inside numerous churches of Ouro Preto and Mariana and by the Mina da Passagem, which is the biggest gold mine opened for tourists in the world. Ouro Preto with its pleasant atmosphere is a right city to learn something more about Brazilian history and to relax over a local meal or cachaca.

Mina Gerais is a state that has produced some world-class soccer/football players (Pele) and the largest number of presidents (Dilma Rousseff) of the country.
Minas Gerais (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈminɐz ʒeˈɾajs] is one of the 26 states of Brazil, ranks as the second most populous, the third by Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the fourth largest by area in the country. The state's capital and largest city, Belo Horizonte, is a major urban and finance center in Latin America, and is the sixth largest urban agglomeration in Brazil, after the cities of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Brasilia and Fortaleza, but its metropolitan area is the third largest in Brazil with just over 5,500,000 inhabitants, after those of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Minas Gerais is the Brazilian state with the largest number of Presidents of Brazil; Brazil's current president, Dilma Rousseff, having been born in Belo Horizonte, is one of them.
With 586,528 km2 (greater than France), it is the fourth most extensive state in Brazil. The main producer of coffee and milk in the country, Minas Gerais is known for its heritage of architecture and colonial art in historical cities such as Ouro Preto, Diamantina, Tiradentes and Mariana. In the south, the tourist points are the hydro mineral spas, such as Caxambu, São Lourenço, Poços de Caldas, São Thomé das Letras, Monte Verde and the national parks of Caparaó and Canastra. The landscape of the State is marked by mountains, valleys, and large areas of fertile lands. In the Serra do Cipó, Sete Lagoas, Cordisburgo and Lagoa Santa, the caves and waterfalls are the attractions. Some of Brazil's most famous caverns are located there. In recent years, the state has emerged as one of the largest economic forces of Brazil, exploring its great economic potential.

E chegamos ao nosso Episódio 4 - Temporada 2
Estes na verdade, foram os nossos primeiros contatos na região, e abriram suas portas e corações, para nos receber com um entusiasmo e compreensão, que não havíamos encontrado até ali.
A primeira pessoa com quem conversamos, foi a Cristina Pauli, da Pousada Casa Antiga Antiga.Nos apaixonamos pelo lugar, e retornamos incontáveis vezes para filmar, a Cristina, cordialmente nos ofereceu uma pernoite no local, para que pudéssemos pegar cada pequeno detalhe. E quanto mais conhecíamos, mais apaixonados ficávamos.
Depois fomos direto ao Sitio Cambara, onde conhecemos a Almeiri, e posteriormente o Leomar, demoramos até encontrarmos o dia perfeito, com nossa agenda, foram vários dias de chuva forte consecutivos. Mas a espera valeu a pena, as imagens retrataram exatamente o que é estar em um lugar, onde você se sente no sítio de sua avó. Além de todas as inúmeras atrações que o casal oferece na propriedade, ainda existem cavalgadas temáticas, e outra que leva os visitantes até o alto do Quiriri.

E para terminar, e por indicação da Cristina. Fomos até um cantinho muito especial, um cantinho aconchegante, e de muito talento, tanto no lugar, quando nos produtos que ali são produzidos artesanalmente. Estamos falando do Cantinho do Artesanato, da Angela e da Monalisa Munhoz de Farias. O lugar é de impressionar, e a exuberância da natureza, faz com que percebamos, que o cantinho, na verdade é enoooorme! E possui uma araucária de 300 anos de idade!
Não tem como não se apaixonar por este capítulo!
