Lower Valais hides this small town. Surrounded by numerous vineyards and orchards, this beautiful place exudes Mediterranean flair and offers various gastronomic wonders. It is no surprise that Liszt, Goethe, Stendhal and Rousseau enjoyed their time on the streets of Martigny.
Two thousand years ago Celtic tribes left their traces here, then came the Romans and Napoleon's troops. Roman thermal baths, a magnificent amphitheater, temples and living quarters are still standing proudly in Martigny today.

Scary Walk Along Gorges du Durnand in Martigny Switzerland
Conquer your fears and join as for a crazy scary walk as we go 200 meters up a wooden stairway pinned to the side of the Gorges du Durnand in the Swiss Alps.
It's a breathtaking spectacle worth experiencing as the foaming river crashes alongside. 14 beautiful waterfalls and lush vegetation make this a picture perfect hiking location.

2002 August Schweiz Rundfahrt Swiss Roundtrip from Martigny
Im zweiten Teil fahren wir von Martigny, über Le Châtelard nach Chamonix.
In Le Châtelard startet die Standseilbahn als ersten Teil auf den Weg zum Stausee von Emosson.
Wahrscheinlich, weil die Bahn in 2013 technisch überholt wird, kommt man nicht auf die Internet- Seite. 1920 wurde die Bahn gebaut. Sie gilt bei bis zu 87 % Steigerung als steilste Zweikabinen- Standseilbahn. Die Streckenlänge beträgt 1310 Meter. Die Höhendifferenz beträgt 700 Meter.
Die zweite Sektion ist ein 600 mm Feldbahn, welche als Petit train panoramique bezeichnet wird.
Die dritte Sektion ist die Minifunic, eine 900 mm Standseilbahn, die bei einer Streckenlänge von 260 Metern einen Höhendifferenz von 140 Metern überwindet.
In Chamonix fährt die in 1955 gebaute Luftseilbahn auf den Aiguille du Midi auf 3777 Meter und ist die zweit höchste Seilbahn von Europa. Es gibt zwei Sektionen. Die Mittelstation liegt auf 2310 Meter. 2700 Höhenmeter werden überwunden.

In Chatelard the cableway beginns to the reservoir of.Emosson. 1920 the cableway is build. It is the steepest two cabin cableway with gradient of 87 %. The length ist 1310 meter. The high difference is 700 meter.
The 2nd train is a 600 mm light railway. The 3rd train is a 900 mm cableway with a length of 260 meter.
In Chamonix starts the aerial cableway to the Aigui´lle du Midi. The station of the cablecar is on 3777 meter.
