Travelling in and around Montreux Switzerland
Our 3 day experience of Montreux in Switzerland condensed into 4 minutes!
We stayed in an AirBnB right behind the Montreux Palace Hotel. We spent the first day wandering round the stunning Lake Geneva, exploring Chateau de Chillon and going on a very eventful boat ride on the lake that was interrupted by a low flying fighter plane then an incredible storm that came out of nowhere!
We took the train up to the summit of Rochers de Naye and hiked on some of the numerous trails. Absolutely stunning scenery from the peak at around 2000m. Highly recommend Montreux to anyone visiting Switzerland.

1.Alps

2.Jungfraujoch
Jungfraujoch is a notable saddle in the Bernese Alps, connecting the two four-thousander peaks Jungfrau and Mönch, at an elevation of 3,466 metres above sea level.
3.Rhine Falls
The Rhine Falls is the largest plain waterfall in Europe. The falls are located on the High Rhine on the border between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich, between the villages of Neuhausen am Rheinfall (SH) and Laufen-Uhwiesen/Dachsen (ZH), next to the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland.
4.Lake Geneva
Lake Geneva (or Lac Léman) is a crescent-shaped lake shared between France and Switzerland, and overlooked by the Alps. Geneva, the Swiss city at its southern tip, is a diplomatic hub with luxury shops and a cobbled old town. On the southern, French side, is the spa town and resort of Évian-les-Bains. The chic, palm-studded Swiss Riviera stretches along the north shore from Lausanne to Montreux.
5.Chillon Castle
Chillon Castle is an island castle located on Lake Geneva, south of Veytaux in the canton of Vaud. It is situated at the eastern end of the lake, on the narrow shore between Montreux and Villeneuve,which gives access to the Alpine valley of the Rhone. Chillon is amongst the most visited castles in Switzerland and Europe.
6.Matterhorn
The Matterhorn is a mountain of the Alps, straddling the main watershed and border between Switzerland and Italy.
7.Pilatus
Pilatus is a mountain massif overlooking Lucerne in Central Switzerland. It is composed of several peaks, of which the highest is named Tomlishorn and is located about 1.3 km to the southeast of the top cable car and cog railway station.
8.Lake Lucerne
Lake Lucerne is a lake in central Switzerland and the fourth largest in the country. The lake has a complicated shape, with several sharp bends and four arms.
9.Eiger
The Eiger is a 3,970-metre mountain of the Bernese Alps, overlooking Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen in the Bernese Oberland of Switzerland, just north of the main watershed and border with Valais.
10.Titlis
Titlis is a mountain of the Uri Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Obwalden and Berne.
