Ylitornio is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Lapland along the Tornio River, opposite the Swedish town of Övertorneå. The municipality has a population of 4,022 and covers an area of 2,212.47 square kilometres of which 183.83 km2 is water. The population density is 1.98 inhabitants per square kilometre . The municipality is unilingually Finnish in contrast to much of far-western Finland. Finland is officially bilingual. A unique ski flying hill project has been presented. The inruns of the hills will be through a mountain inside a pipe tunnel.[1]

    Kemi is a town and municipality of Finland. It is located very near the city of Tornio and the Swedish border. It was founded in 1869 by decree of Russian Emperor Alexander II because of its proximity to a deep water harbour. Kemi is situated by the Bothnian Bay, at the mouth of river Kemijoki, and it is part of Lapland region. The town has a population of 21,019 and covers an area of 747.28 square kilometres of which 652.1 km2 is water. The population density is 220.46 inhabitants per square kilometre .
