Hello, and welcome to Paris. This week we are exploring the city of love, city of lights and city of art. This video will be showing you the top 50 things to do while you visit Paris.
So we're wrapping things up here. What would be your one tip for visiting Paris? Well, I have recently spent a whole ten days here in summer. I would say that if you really want to visit the art galleries, the museums and all of the main attractions you should probably avoid summer and like either come in the spring or the fall or even winter. Because the lines are insane and sometimes you have to wait like an hour and a half or two hours.
So how about you? What are your final thoughts on Paris? So my finals thoughts is obviously Paris is one of the top cities in the world in terms of attractions. There is going to be garbage, there is going to be lines, there is going to be some areas that are a bit of an eyesore. But there is also a lot of beauty and there is also a lot to do here.

Bisogna essere lenti, amare le soste per guardare il cammino fatto, sentire la stanchezza conquistare come una malinconia le membra, invidiare l’anarchia dolce di chi inventa di momento in momento la strada.
Bisogna imparare a star da sé e aspettare in silenzio, ogni tanto essere felici di avere in tasca soltanto le mani. Andare lenti è incontrare cani senza travolgerli, è darei nomi agli alberi, agli angoli, ai pali della luce, è trovare una panchina, è portarsi dentro i propri pensieri lasciandoli affiorare a seconda della strada, bolle che salgono a galla e che quando son forti scoppiano e vanno a confondersi al cielo. È suscitare un pensiero involontario e non progettante, non il risultato dello scopo e della volontà, ma il pensiero necessario, quello che viene su da solo, da un accordo tra mente e mondo
Andare lenti è fermarsi su lungomare, su una spiaggia, su una scogliera inquinata, su una collina bruciata dall’estate, andare lenti è conoscere le differenze della propria forma di vita, i nomi degli amici, i colori e le piogge, i giochi e le veglie, le confidenze e le maldicenze. Andare lenti sono le stazioni intermedie, i capistazione, i bagagli antichi e i gabinetti, la ghiaia e i piccoli giardini, i passaggi a livello con gente che aspetta, un vecchio carro con un giovane cavallo, una scarsità che non si vergogna, una fontana pubblica, una persiana con occhi nascosti all’ombra. Andare lenti è rispettare il tempo, abitarlo con poche cose di grande valore, con noia e nostalgia, con desideri immensi sigillati nel cuore e pronti ad esplodere oppure puntati sul cielo perché stretti da mille interdetti.
Andare lenti è ruminare, imitare lo sguardo infinito dei buoi, l’attesa paziente dei cani, sapersi riempire la giornata con un tramonto, pane e olio. Andare lenti vuol dire avere un grande armadio per tutti i sogni, con grandi racconti per piccoli viaggiatori, teatri plaudenti per attori mediocri, vuol dire una corriera stroncata da una salita, il desiderio attraverso gli sguardi, poche parole capaci di vivere nel deserto, la scomparsa della folla variopinta delle merci e il tornar grandi delle cose necessarie. Andare lenti è essere provincia senza disperare, al riparo dalla storia vanitosa, dentro alla meschinità e ai sogni, fuori della scena principale e più vicini a tutti i segreti.
Andare lenti è il filosofare di tutti, vivere ad un’altra velocità, più vicini agli inizi e alle fini, laddove si fa l’esperienza grande del mondo, appena entrati in esso o vicini al congedo.
Andare lenti significa poter scendere senza farsi male, non annegarsi nelle emozioni industriali, ma essere fedeli a tutti i sensi, assaggiare con il corpo la terra che attraversiamo. Andare lenti vuol dire ringraziare il mondo, farsene riempire. C’è più vita in dieci chilometri lenti e a piedi che in una rotta transoceanica che ti affoga nella tua solitudine progettante, un’ingordigia che non sa digerire. Si ospitano più altri quando si guarda un cane, un’uscita da scuola, un affacciarsi al balcone, quando in una sosta buia si osserva un giocare a carte, che in un volare, un faxare, in un internettare. Questo pensiero lento è l’unico pensiero, l’altro è il pensiero che serve a far funzionare la macchina, che ne aumenta la velocità, che si illude di poterlo fare all’infinito. Il pensiero lento offrirà ripari ai profughi del pensiero veloce, quando la macchina inizierà a tremare sempre di più e nessun sapere riuscirà a soffocare il tremito. Il pensiero lento è la più antica costruzione antisismica.
Bisogna sin da adesso camminare, pensare a piedi, guardare lentamente le case, scoprire quando il loro ammucchiarsi diventa volgare, desiderare che dietro di esse torni a vedersi il mare. Bisogna pensare la Misura che non è pensabile senza l’andare a piedi, senza fermarsi a guardare gli escrementi degli altri uomini in fuga su macchine veloci. Nessuna saggezza può venire dalla rimozione dei rifiuti. È da questi, dal loro accumulo, dalla merda industriale del mondo che bisogna ripartire se si vuole pensare al futuro. I veloci, i progettanti, i convegnisti, i giornalisti consumano voracemente il mondo e pensano di migliorarlo. La lentezza sa amare la velocità, sa apprezzarne la trasgressione, desidera anche se teme (quanta complessità apre questa contraddizione!) la profanazione contenuta nella velocità, ma la profanazione di massa non ha nulla della sacertà che pure si annida nel sacrilegio, è l’empietà senza valore, un diritto universale all’oltraggio. Nessuna esperienza è più stolida della velocità di massa, della profanazione che non si sa.

Our Ukraine Travel Series started in Kiev (Київ) the Capital of Ukraine. We had 10 days to see as much of country as we could. We spent the first few days exploring and eating our way around Keiv, including a haunting but memorable day trip to Chernobyl and the ghost town of Pripyat. You can watch this as a separate video.
Moving on south west of the country we took an overnight train to Ivano-Frankivsk before taking a hire car up into the Carpathian Mountains. Bad weather in the mountains restricted what we could achieve, before driving north to Lviv. Our final day was spend flying back to Kiev to catch our flight home to the UK.
