Fiumicello is a frazione of Fiumicello Villa Vicentina in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 35 kilometres northwest of Trieste and about 35 kilometres southeast of Udine. Fiumicello borders the following municipalities: Aquileia, Grado, Ruda, San Canzian d'Isonzo, Turriaco, Villa Vicentina.

Grotta Gigante , also known as Riesengrotte or as Grotta di Brisciachi, is a giant cave on the Italian side of the Trieste Karst , close to the village of Borgo Grotta Gigante or Briščiki in the municipality of Sgonico. Its central cavern is 107 m high, 65 m wide and 130 m long, putting it in the 1995 Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest tourist cave. This record was broken in 2010 when La Verna cave in the south west of France was opened to tourists, measuring 255 by 225 by 195 metres .

San Michele in Isola is a Roman Catholic church, located on the Isola di San Michele, a small islet sited between Venice and Murano, which once sheltered a Camaldolese monastery , but now houses the main cemetery of the city. The monastery was mostly demolished in the 19th-century, but the church remains, originally rebuilt starting in 1469. The church is dedicated to Saint Michael , the holder of the scales on Judgement Day, a fit guardian of the sleep of the faithful dead. The island cemetery now includes the land of the formerly separate island of San Cristoforo. This church is sometimes referred to as San Michele di Murano, although this islet is separate from islands comprising that town.

A Fiumicello di Maratea, in Basilicata, lo speleologo lombardo Vincenzo Fusco (per conto del Touring Club Italiano) visitò alcune grotte nel 1952 e 1957 riportando alla luce utensili litici, parti di animali, ossa, pezzetti di vasellame, carbone.. le grotte sono vicinissime al mare ed alla spiaggia. Erano abitate dall'uomo di Neanderthal, nel periodo Musteriano del Paleolitico Medio (70.000 - 40.000 anni fa). Delle quattro grotte ne presento solo 3: l'Antro di Fiumicello (una grotta la cui volta è parzialmente crollata, la Grotta Centrale (in cui sono leggibili i segni del mare e... dell'uomo contemporaneo!) e la Grotta Occidentale (almeno 3 m.s.l.m.) con un ingresso più difficile. Queste grotte collegabili alle altre presenti nel territorio (come La Calda di Latronico ma anche in tutto il Golfo da Camerota a Scalea) sono facilmente visitabili e .. valorizzabili (p.e.: l'articolo- proposta di Carmine Marotta).
Una curiosità: .. nel breve filmato c'è la presenza di un quartetto di seppie vanitose! provate ad individuarle.. ;)
