TonyV: The Vinny Vella Show HD

ABOUT TONY V: Born and raised in Hamden, Connecticut, Tony discovered that he had a passion to sing only a few years ago. Inspired by his mom, he decided that he was going to explore his talents further and started to sing karaoke in restaurants and bars all over the Connecticut area. Some of his favorite places that encouraged him to keep moving forward were J Roo's Bar & Restaurant, Brothers Restaurant. Tony and his good friend Dona Marie Tatta would go there to sing with friend and karaoke DJ Patty Shock. Tony also got great pleasure singing for the seniors at Whitney Manor in Hamden, Ct and Skyview Center in Wallingford, CT.
Tony's singing style is reminiscent of the classic 50's and 60's pop artists. His influences are Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Johnny Maestro, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, the Dupree's and Michael Buble, Tom Jones, Sammy Davis Jr, Vic Damone and Engelbert Humperdinck.
His audiences adores his renditions of these memorable artists and their classic hits, but soon Tony realized that he wanted to do more than sing the cover songs. While surfing on Facebook, Tony noticed an up and coming young singer named Jackie DiMaggio who was also covering classic songs. Jackie's mother Kathy actually posted Jackie's version of the Connie Francis' song Mama. Tony contacted Kathy to find out more about Jackie's career and after a short conversation Kathy realized that Tony's last name was her mother's maiden name. It turned out that they were cousins! Soon after that, Kathy introduced Tony to Lisa Ratner a veteran producer/songwriter who was currently producing and writing original material for Jackie.
Lisa's credits include songs and productions for superstars Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton, Vanessa Williams, Sara Dash (Labelle), Heather Hedly, Sandy Farina, Shawn Colvin, Marc Cohen, Patti Austin, Busta Rhymes, Jazzy Jeff, Judy Collins and many others.
After their first meeting, Tony decided to move forward with his dream and engaged Ratner to produce and co-write his first album A New Man. Ratner is best known for her very contemporary Pop/Rock/Dance productions and arrangements but when she heard Tony's melody and lyrics for his first song Honeymoonit inspired her to take a more traditional approach and together she and Tony created an album that reminds you of many songs of yesteryear but with a modern twist.
Tony has performed at the Saint Andrews Feast in New Haven CT and at the Savin Rock Festival and Offshore Restaurant both in West Haven, CT. Recently Tony debuted at Teddy's Bar & Restaurant in Mt. Kisco New York where he performed with some of NYC's finest session musicians and singers at the Westchester County Hurricane Sandy Relief Benefit.
