Carcaixent is a town and municipality in the province of Valencia, eastern Spain, with c. 20,000 inhabitants. Its origins go back to prehistoric Iberian and Roman times, with some remainders in its area. It is located in the Ribera Alta comarca, 40 km south of the provincial capital Valencia. It is the birthplace of the orange growth and its flourishing commerce in the 19th and 20th centuries. Currently, its inhabitants live basically on agriculture and the service sector.

Natural Park of Penyal d'Ifac is a natural park situated in Calpe , in the autonomous community of Valencia, Spain. The Penyal d'Ifac is a massive limestone outcrop emerging from the sea and linked to the shore by rock debris. It is home to numerous rare plants, including a number of endemic species, and over 300 species of animals, and a nesting site for colonies of sea birds and other birds. Rising to 332 metres high, the rock is a striking visual feature of the Mediterranean coastline. Historically it was known to the Phoenicians as the Northern Rock, to distinguish it from its southern counterpart, the Rock of Gibraltar.Behind Penyal d'Ifac is a large lagoon cut off from the sea by strips of sandy beach and extending inland to the coastal mountains. HUMAN TOWER competition (Castell): breathtaking festival in Tarragona, Spain

Spain is famous for its festivals – there is running with the bulls or tomatina (the festival dedicated to throwing tomatoes at each other). Running with the bulls is dangerous but the Castell is not just dangerous, it is spectacular and breathtaking.

Every year hundreds of competitors (separated into the teams of 50-500 men and women) alongside thousands of tourists flock to Tarragona, a city in Spainish Catalonia, to participate in the human towers or castles competition.

In 2010 the Castells festival was added to the list of UNESCO world heritage. As more and more people find it amusing to see how hundreds of brave participants work like a well-wound clock or mechanism in order to create intricate patterns and human towers.
