Situated on the Overlander's Way halfway between Townsville and Mount Isa, the town is located on the bank of Queensland's longest river, the Flinders, and is known for its recreational Lake Fred Tritton and bougainvillea-lined streets, parks and gardens.
Richmond is home to the award-winning major attraction Kronosaurus Korner, where you will find the only museum in Australia primarily dedicated to displaying marine reptiles, as well as a very special dinosaur. Minmi, with impressions of its fossilised skin, is considered to be Australia's best preserved dinosaur skeleton. Minmi takes pride of place alongside the Richmond Pliosaur skeletons. This fossil, found in 1989, has to be seen to be believed.

We stopped in to check out the some of the great natural experiences that can be enjoyed in Townsville and its surrounds. We started with a trip to Wallaman falls before heading to Paluma for a swim at both bIg and little crystal creek
Once we got into the town centre and went for a walk along the strand before visiting Reef HQ.
Magnetic island is a short ferry ride from Townsville and is worth the trip some great things to see and there are many opportunities that will allow you to get up close to some Australian wildlife.
This destination has a number of wildlife sanctuaries that will allow you to hold a Koala, wombat, snake or even feed a crocodile.
This is another great Queensland destination that is a must see

Burketown Holiday Travel Video guide, Queensland Australia
In the north western corner of Queenslands Gulf Savannah region is Burketown. The town is on the Albert River and on the dividing line between the wetlands to the north and the beginning of the savannah grass plains to the south, some 25 kilometres from the coast of the Gulf of Carpentaria. The Albert River is tidal and the Gulf is accessible from Burketown by boat.
Burketown is surrounded by flat grassy plains to the south and large salt pans to the north. Its known as the Barra capital of Australia and is a popular breeding ground for queenslands salt water crocodile.
When in town be sure to pop in and check out the Pub. Its full of friendly locals willing to tell you about what their town has to offer.
