There are estimated to be over 150 such objects around the country. There are big things in every state and territory in Australia. Most big things began as tourist traps found along major roads between destinations. The big things have become something of a cult phenomenon, and are sometimes used as an excuse for a road trip, where many or all big things are visited and used as a backdrop to a group photograph. Ohhh No..... How will we get out of this mess we got ourslves into!!
Yesterday June 10 we found ourselves in a LOT of trouble.
We picked the wrong campsite at Carmila Beach, a campground 100kms south of Mackay in Qld and were surrounded by soft sand, not where we were supposed to be in a Motorhome. We had a sleepless night as we pondered how we were going to get out in the morning.
It wasn't looking good but we caught it all on video.
