20/11/2017 :: Townsville is a very sparse city in Queensland, along the East Coast of Australia. In order to travel to Magnetic Island you will take a ferry from here. Most travellers don’t spend time in Townsville as there is not much to do at all, especially considering the boring nightlife. There is one bar/club that does not charge for entry and will give you a good night with the right people, however, everywhere else has an expensive entry fee. Louis and I stayed in Townsville for 9 days or so. What did we do? not much in all honesty. We hiked the Castle Hill (which is more of a mini mountain) one evening for the sunset, and then hiked it 3 hours later at 3am to catch the unreal sunrise over such a sparse, lush area of land that you saw at the beginning. We also visited the aquarium, turtle sanctuary and museum, whilst walking the promenade that views Magnetic Island the whole way. However, the defiant highlight was spending time with our, now life long mates from Vancouver Island in Canada, that we met in an even more ‘less-to-do’ town, Hannah and Taylor ❤️ We love you guys and always will do. Louis and I also made close mates with two German girls called Klara and Reikie, who we went on to see again in Cairns. For this reason Townsville will always give us all special memories to hold onto!!

STONEFISH Encounter! World Class Diving at its Finest Ep. 157
Riley nearly knelt on a Stonefish, the most venomous fish in the world. Crazy stuff! I don't want to think about the mayhem that would have followed in getting Riley to the mainland had he been stung... We didn't know it was world class diving in the Turks and Caicos until we had a chat to some fellow divers on a nearby boat. This is what it's all about my friends. Spending more time wet than dry, and being able to share days in the sun with those people you love. We're happy you're here to join us. Enjoy
Crazy About Rugby Campervan Tour
At Air New Zealand Campervans we're crazy about rugby. So when we got the chance to build 10 ultimate rugby fans' campervans we went a bit mad.
We set about designing and building ten custom campervans fitted with All Blacks memorabilia and all the latest campervan mod cons. Then we named them after some past and present All Blacks including Dalton, Howlett, Jones, Kirkpatrick, Kirwan, Leslie, McCaw, Meads, Thorne and Wilson.
Once the Air New Zealand campervans were complete, we needed to make sure they were fit and ready to be taken on holiday around New Zealand. So Air New Zealand sent out a wee quiz to its staff to discover who was the craziest about rugby and to decide who would be lucky enough to take the campervans on a test run across the country.
Once the winners were decided it was time to send them on their maiden voyage. The Air New Zealand Crazy About Rugby Campervans and their crew of Air New Zealand staff set off from Kings College in Auckland and were waved goodbye by a number of important people including Air New Zealand CEO Rob Fyfe and the Prime Minister.
Then they drove past the Air New Zealand terminal at Auckland International Airport to show off the campervans and say Hi before stopping off at the Villa Maria Winery on the way out of Auckland.
They also stopped in at Hamilton to see the guys at CI Munro. They're the amazing team that built these fantastic campers.
The journey continued through the North Island with a number of fun-filled activities, stopping off at Top Ten Holiday Parks for a bit of shut eye along the way. They continued across the Cook Strait on the Bluebridge ferry and all the way to Christchurch where they caught up with a couple of Christchurch Little Rippa Rugby teams -- Burnside and New Brighton. I think the Air New Zealand guys made their day as they had with them a couple of All Blacks. Not only that, they gave the Little Rippas and their families tickets to the All Blacks Vs Fiji charity game that was happening at Carisbrook the following week. To get down there, they got free New Zealand campervan hire of the Air New Zealand Crazy About Rugby Campervans. Unfortunately for the Air New Zealand staff, that meant that their campervan journey was over and it was time to fly back to reality. However I know that most of them are already planning a New Zealand motorhome hire trip for their next holiday around New Zealand.
For the kids however, the adventure was only just starting and a week later they picked up the campervans and drove from Christchurch to Dunedin where they had a day jam-packed with activities thanks to the Dunedin Tourism. There was also the All Blacks Captains Run training session to be attended. These little guys probably had the best day of their lives next as they strutted their stuff on the Carrisbrook field playing the pre-match for the All Blacks vs Fiji game.
We've got the whole experience of both the Little Rippa team's journey as well as the Air New Zealand staff captured on video so you can see what we're on about and just how much fun a New Zealand motorhome hire around New Zealand can be. Hopefully you'll be excited enough to rent one for your trip around our beautiful country.
