Costa Rica Baldi Hot Springs Resort
Hi Everyone!!
We are in Costa Rica! Well, Paola is for her 11th year anniversary with her husband.
We stayed at La Fortuna, Costa Rica. Which is the Arenal area because the Volcano is called Arenal. The volcano is still active, its last eruption was in 2010.
The Hotel is Baldi Hot Springs Resort.
It has 25 natural hot springs. Its categorized as The World's largest Hot Springs.
La Fortuna Village.
We only went once before check in to have lunch.
La Choza del Laurel was delicious! Their food is 100% natural. We loved it. Don't forget to ask for coffee, they make it fresh infront of you, they grind the beans and use a cloth-like filter.
The Breakfast at Baldi was included in our stay. The fruit was tasty and fresh. The Mickey Mouse pancakes were delicious. The Omelet station, really good.
The 25 Hot springs were incredible! Each pool has its theme.
We enjoyed night time, it is less crowded and the lights make it more romantic.
Everyone in Costa Rica is so happy and friendly. There seems to be a positive vibe everywhere you go. As they all say Pura Vida the translation means Pure Life but what they really mean is Good Life
XOXO

One of the BEST Restaurants in Costa Rica
TONS of Costa Rica Travel INFO & VIDEOS at Hey Everyone! So, we were out doing some filming at a hotel around Lake Arenal about 45 minutes outside of La Fortuna. We had heard quite a bit about the Gingerbread so we decided to check it out. OMG! We felt like we were back in Vegas eating at some upscale restaurant in one of the casino's. This is no ordinary Costa Rican restaurant, this place is totally gringo..... with GREAT gringo food. The mushrooms are to die for. Anyway, Costa Rica isn't exactly known for its cuisine and finding the Gingerbread was a TOTAL score for us. The Gingerbread may be one of the best places to eat in all Costa Rica. If you're around Lake Arenal between Nuevo Arenal and La Fortuna, stop in the Gingerbread.... and really, the MUSHROOMS......... YUM-MY!

La Fortuna,Costa Rica
La Fortuna is a rural city located in San Carlos, in the province of Alajuela, Costa Rica.
La Fortuna has the airport which is nearest to the Arenal Volcano, though many visitors also arrive via automobile, to the resorts and hotels in La Fortuna, Castillo, Palma, Monteverde, or Tilaran. Arenal is often cited by scientists as being in the top ten or top 20 of the world's most active volcanoes.La Fortuna is less than 10 km from the peak of Arenal and less than 20 km from the entrance to Arenal Volcano National Park (the entrance is west of the peak, whereas La Fortuna is east of the peak).
Other than the volcano, La Fortuna has tourist attractions such as the La Catarata de la Fortuna, a waterfall that falls from a height of 70 meters, several resorts with natural hot springs temperate enough to bathe in, other day spa services, and day-trips which involve horseback riding, whitewater rafting, hanging bridges, a sky tram, zip-lines, mountain bike, kayak, stand-up paddleboard, and ATV or dirt bike rentals, butterfly farm and Venado Cavern tours, bungee jumping, Laguna Cedeno, El Salto Swimming Hole, and canyoneering.
La Fortuna has a medic station but serious injuries require a medivac (or long travel on roadways), a police station (and another is on the way to El Tapon), gas station, 3 banks, 3 groceries, restaurants (in addition to those in the resorts), post office, and hardware store.
Arenal Volcano Costa Rica
Positioned within Costa Rica's fertile northern lowlands, the Arenal Volcano is an unavoidable presence while traveling within this part of the country. It is tall and imposing and has a reputation that precedes itself. Arenal's perfectly symmetrical shape makes it a sightseer's dream, while its abundance of outdoor activities makes it an easy place to check things off your must-do in Costa Rica list.
Until 2010, it was Costa Rica's most active volcano. Much to the enjoyment of its visitors, Arenal spewed enormous amounts of lava, gas and ash on a regular basis. That eruptive cycle -- which began with the infamous eruption of 1968 -- ended recently. In October 2010, Arenal entered into an indeterminate resting phase. For the time being, visitors will be unable to watch the much-loved explosions, although that could change within a matter of months or years. Travelers to Arenal will still enjoy its bountiful sights, sounds and activities— there are mountains to be hiked, lakes to be fished and rivers to be floated. As one of the country's most scenic and accessible areas, it is a requisite stop on any tour of Costa Rica.
As Arenal's ultimate travel resource, this site is dedicated to providing you with information about the Arenal Volcano and the surrounding area. It's our hope that with the tools and services we offer, you'll be able to plan a fun and memorable adventure to Costa Rica.
You can follow individual links to learn more about La Fortuna, Lake Arenal, and other volcanoes in Costa Rica. If you want more guidance on where else to travel in Costa Rica, just visit our Costa Rica Destinations Guide. It's simple and easy to use.
Lake Arenal
In many ways, Lake Arenal is just as monumental as the volcano that rises above its eastern shoreline. With a surface of over 33 sq mi (85 sq km) and a depth of some 200 ft (60 m), it is Costa Rica's largest landlocked body of water. As such, it provides ample opportunities for activities such as windsurfing, fishing, boating and more.
