The National Australia Bank is a heritage-listed bank building at 61 Churchill Street, Childers, Bundaberg Region, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Hubert George Octavius Thomas and built c. 1900. It is also known as Bank of Northern Queensland, Bank of Queensland, and National Bank of Australasia. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.

  • 1. Palace Backpackers Memorial Childers
    The Childers Palace Backpackers Hostel fire on 23 June 2000 killed 15 backpackers: nine women and six men. The former Palace Hotel in the town of Childers, Queensland, Australia, had been converted into a backpacker hostel; it was popular amongst backpackers who were doing fruit-picking work in the Childers area. Robert Paul Long was arrested for lighting the fire and charged with murder and arson . He was later sentenced to life in prison.

    Hervey Bay railway line, sometimes known as Urangan railway line, is a closed railway line in Queensland, Australia. It was opened in 1896 to Pialba and it was extended to Urangan in 1913. It was extended to the end of the Urangan Pier in 1917, along with the opening of the pier. It was closed in 1993.
