Ilfracombe is a small town and locality in the Longreach Region in Central West Queensland, Australia. Ilfracombe calls itself The Hub of the West. The main industry is sheep rearing, mainly for wool. Ilfracombe is situated on the Landsborough Highway, about 27 kilometres east of Longreach, 214 metres above sea level. In the 2011 census, Ilfracombe had a population of 348 people.

  • 1. Tree of Knowledge Memorial Barcaldine
    The Tree of Knowledge is a heritage-listed tree in Oak Street, Barcaldine, Barcaldine Region, Queensland, Australia. The town was the headquarters of the 1891 Australian shearers' strike and the 1892 reading of the Labour Party manifesto leading to the formation of the Australian Labor Party . It was a 200-year-old Corymbia aparrerinja ghost gum. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.
