Murgon is a town and locality in the South Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia. It is situated on the Bunya Highway 270 kilometres north-west of the state capital, Brisbane. At the 2016 Australian Census, the town recorded a population of 2,378.Murgon is in the region of Queensland known as the South Burnett, the southern part of the Burnett River catchment. Attractions of Murgon include winemaking, fishing on the nearby Bjelke-Petersen Dam and gem-fossicking. Industries include peanuts, dairy farming, beef and cattle production and wine. The Indigenous Australian settlement of Cherbourg is just south of Murgon.

Wondai, Southern Queensland Country

Wondai sits in between the towns of Kingaroy and Murgon, which is around 3 hours' drive from Brisbane. It's a quaint country town renowned for its homemade arts and crafts scene. Wondai Regional Art Gallery is considered one of the best in rural south-east Queensland with exhibitions and workshops to discover every month. Relax at one of the many pubs or try Dimities Cottage Restaurant and Tea Gardens. The Timber Museum at the Visitor Information Centre captures the rich timber industry and pioneer loggers of the 1900s.

Sandstone Park, Canarvon Gorge, Central Queensland, Australia

We recently had the pleasure of traveling out to Central Queensland, Canarvon Gorge. Sandstone Park is a new addition to the area for self sufficient camping. The owners of this 43,000 acre organic cattle farm have taken on a grand plan of creating a unique free range camping experience for, at this time, self sufficient campers. Best time to visit is between April and September.
Camp fires permitted, lovely clean porta-loo's. No water or power.

183. Carmila Beach, Carmila Qld

Carmila Beach is a beachfront camping ground located 100kms south of Mackay in Qld.
There are several camping spaces all along the beachfront but the first one is the only one available to Motorhomes, the rest are 4wd only. Watch how we got on when we were almost bogged in the sand here -
The Campground has toilets and bins plus there is a dump point.
Phone coverage is almost non-existent although occasionally it picks up before dropping out again.
The campground is pet friendly.
Cost is $10 per vehicle per night
