1. Palace Backpackers MemorialChilders The Childers Palace Backpackers Hostel fire on 23 June 2000 killed 15 backpackers: nine women and six men. The former Palace Hotel in the town of Childers, Queensland, Australia, had been converted into a backpacker hostel; it was popular amongst backpackers who were doing fruit-picking work in the Childers area. Robert Paul Long was arrested for lighting the fire and charged with murder and arson . He was later sentenced to life in prison. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Myra Station is a sheep and cattle property in the Tara West Queensland region. .A view into the daily activities of this remarkable 71 yr old woman fighting the drought conditions in western Queensland. She runs over 50 head of cattle out on the highway for feed then after hours on the road, returns to the farm to shovel out cotton seed to over 250 head of sheep.
