Gladstone is the largest settlement within and the seat of the Gladstone Regional Council, which formed in 2008 amalgamating three former local government areas.

Lake Victoria Camp, Lake Victoria, is bush camping at its finest. No facilities, no reception, no marked sites, remote and for the most part probably not another soul around. The lake is hardly the most picture perfect but it'll keep the kids entertained while you kick back with a fishing rod and a brew. As stated this place has nothing so you will need to come prepared. Nice spot at sunset.
